OneUp Cartel's investment on Farming Tales: Time to Buy Animals! + Financial Report No.24
Blockchain-based games are one of my passions and for this reason I enjoy playing games but I also like to publish content related to the gaming projects I decided to play and invest in on my Hive blog.
I am an active player/investor on almost all games developed on the Hive blockchain including games in development and not yet playable such as PsyberX and WOO.
The only game that was not developed on Hive that I decided to invest in is Farming Tales which is the protagonist of this post of mine today.
Farming Tales is an NFT-based game built on the blokchain of WAX.
In Farming Tales, players play the role of farm entrepreneurs.
Each player has to manage his or her own farm where he or she can take care of animals and bees, can fish and can grow different types of vegetables.
Most of the elements that constitute the farm are NFTs such as seed-type NFTs and animal-type NFTs.
On Farming Tales I manage two farms:
- a farm of my own
- the farm of the Cartel project (@oneup-cartel)
Cartel is a project built on the Hive blockchain focused mainly on blockchain-based games but is also:
- a Meta Gaming Guild
- a Meta Curation
- a Meta Dividend Token
- a Swap Service
In this post I will focus on the farm I manage for Cartel and below you can see the topics I will cover today.

My investment strategy on Farming Tales
My cartel project investment management on Farming Tales started on 29 January 2022 after @flauwy read my financial evaluations on the game.
My investment strategy on Farming Tales has changed over time.
Initially I had calculated a relatively short period to reach the break-even point and start collecting profits but then, first the decrease in the market value of some NFTs and then the arrival of the Bear Market led me to a different choice.
Initially I was focused on collecting in-game rewards (SEST tokens) and stacking SEST tokens to get CBIT tokens.
When I saw that Farming Tales tokens were starting to lose value I decided to focus on trading NFTs and in particular buying and selling animal-type NFTs of legendary rarity.
My choice so far has proved to be the right one and in fact there are 921 liquid WAX on Cartel's wallet which are mainly the income from the animal type NFT trades I have managed to complete so far.
My current goal, both for my personal investment and Cartel's investment, is to transform Farming Tales which is a play to earn game into a free to play game.
Cartel has entrusted me with 1833 WAX tokens to invest in Farming Tales and so when I have accumulated an amount of 1833 WAX on Cartel's wallet I will have achieved this goal.
With 921 liquid WAX I am halfway there (50.25%).
In the last 16 days I have sold 2 NFTs of legendary animal type and thanks to these two sales I have increased the amount of liquid WAX by 22.80% compared to my previous report (21 September 2022).
After my last sales, there are only two epic-type animals left on Cartel's farm:
- 1 NFT Harlequin Goat.
- 1 NFT Grey Sheep
If I want to continue trading in NFTs, I have to buy new animal-type NFTs.
Time to buy animals!
Which animals to buy?
Which purchase method to use?
NFTs of the animal type in Farming Tales can be purchased via two different methods:
- from the in-game Market using SEST tokens (Crafting)
- from the Market section of AtomicHub or Neftyblocks using WAX tokens.
But there is also a third possibility: Blending.
From the Blends section of Neftyblocks it is possible, starting from an NFT animal of lower rarity to obtain an NFT animal of higher rarity using combinations of 1 or 2 NFTs of lower rarity + a VOUCHER.
In order to choose which NFTs to buy and which purchase method to use, I constructed a table some time ago which is useful for calculating the gain per Harvest of each NFT animal type and for calculating the lowest purchase cost by comparing the various possible purchase methods.
In my table I enter as input:
- the current values of the WAX, SEST and CBIT tokens
- the purchase cost in WAX and SEST for each NFT according to the purchase method usable
Thanks to the calculations in my table, I decided to purchase:
- 2 Pink Pig
- 1 White Goose
- 1 White Cow
I have purchased 4 common type animals, but I will make them legendary through blending.
I also decided to make the two epic animals I already have on Cartel's farm become legendary.
To perform the blending operation I need:
- 10 VOUCHERS from 4000 SEST.
- 4 VOUCHERS from 9000 SEST.
I need a total of 76000 SEST to buy the VOUCHERS I need:
- 8790 SEST are already in the wallet
- I purchased 67478.64 SEST via the SWAP function of https://wax.alcor.exchange/.
I spent a total of 190 WAX but now Cartel's farm has 6 legendary animals.
Blending takes calculations and time to perform but it is worth it.
I spent 190 WAX to get 6 legendary animals.
If I had chosen to buy the same 6 legendary animals from the market I would have spent 524 WAX.
Cartel Investment Update: Report #24
OneUp Cartel invested in the Farming Tales project in two successive times:
- First investment: 500 HBD (January 29, 2022)
- Second investment: 250 WAX (March 1, 2022)
From the conversion of HBD tokens to WAX tokens, I obtained 1583 WAX tokens, which when added to the second investment of 250 WAX produced a total of 1833 WAX tokens.
1833 WAX tokens is therefore the total amount of tokens I had available to invest in Farming Tales.
I used the 1833 WAX tokens in the following ways:
- Purchase of NFT: 1585.59 WAX
- Purchase of WAX Resources (CPU,RAM,NET): 51.54 WAX
- Purchase of 14970 SEST tokens: 195.00 WAX
- Cost of trading on Alcor Exchange: 0.87 WAX
VALUE ASSETS + REWARDS
The value of the NFT collection of the Cartel project
In the table below you can see the list updated to date (October 9, 2022) of NFTs owned by Cartel with the indication:
- of the purchase prices
- of the payment method used to purchase them
- of the current market prices on AtomicHub/NeftyBlocks
- of the difference between the purchase price and the current market value for each NFT purchased.
Compared to my previous report, the composition of the NFT collection of the Cartel project has changed because I bought the legendary animals I showed earlier and because the number of NFT Seed Boxes has increased.
Today I also register a positive sign: some NFTs have increased in market value compared to 16 days ago.
In particular the Green House which was worth 469 WAX today has a market value of 627 WAX with an increase of +158 WAX.
Due to the market value of the 6 legendary type NFTs and due to the increase in value of some NFTs the total value of the Cartel collection increases by over 500 WAX compared to the previous report.
Total market value: 1385 WAX = $120.41 (previous report: 827.96 WAX = $87.91).
Total Market Value - Total Purchase Cost: +66.25 WAX = +5.76$ (previous report: -396.18 WAX = -42.06$)
The value of CBIT and SEST tokens accumulated and not reinvested
Profit and ROI
In the following image you can see the prospectus I created to get a concise and immediate view of the investment on Farming Tales that I manage for the Cartel project.
In the prospectus the total initial investment cost is the total amount of WAX tokens I had available to invest: 1833 WAX.
Compared to the previous report (22 September 2022) the financial results (Profit and ROI) in terms of WAX tokens have improved a lot.
Profit: +539.38 WAX = +46.88$ (Previous report profit: +38.67 WAX = +3.32$)
ROI: +29.43% (previous report ROI: +2.11%)
I am happy to be able to record this marked improvement.
For the Cartel project I have invested a total of 1833 WAX tokens and have so far obtained a total investment value (Assets + Rewards) of 2372.38 WAX: +539.38 WAX and therefore I am satisfied with the results I have obtained but there is another financial evaluation to be made related to the dollar value of the WAX tokens which has decreased a lot compared to when Cartel invested in Farming Tales (0.28$ VS 0.08$).
If the Hive blockchain is suffering relatively little from the general Bear Market situation the WAX blockchain has suffered a lot the effects of the Bear Markete and seems to be at a standstill.
In the image below you can see second chart I created to monitor two financial results that take into consideration:
- the value of the 500 HBD and 250 WAX at the time of their use
- the current value of Cartel's investment in WAX tokens and in dollars.
- the current value of Cartel's investment in WAX tokens and in dollars.
Cartel's investment will reach the break-even point in dollar terms when and if the WAX token reaches a value of $0.2360.
When Cartel invested in Farming Tales a WAX token was worth 0.2853$.
If WAX were to return to that value the profit in dollar terms would be +$118.52 - ROI +21.23%.
Final Considerations
Almost all blockchain projects have been affected by the Bear Market.
Despite the current situation I consider Farming Tales a project with potential because it is one of the few NFT-based farming games that has nice graphics and a 3D engine and most importantly it is one of the few blockchain-based games that has NFTs linked to real goods from real farms such as honey and saffron.
Moreover, the development team is doing a nice job considering that Farming Tales is a game that is less than a year old.
When the New Waxchester Farming Tales update is released, it will become a multy-player game and the game dynamics will be expanded.

Sono un giocatore/investitore attivo su quasi tutti i giochi sviluppati sulla blockchain di Hive compresi i giochi in fase di sviluppo e non ancora giocabili come ad esempio PsyberX e WOO.
C'è un unico gioco che non è stato sviluppato su Hive a cui ho deciso di investire è Farming Tales che è il protagonista di questo mio post odierno.
Farming Tales è un gioco basato su NFT costruito sulla blokchain di WAX.
Su Farming Tales i giocatori rivestono il ruolo di imprenditori agricoli.
Ogni giocatore deve gestire la sua fattoria in cui può allevare animali e api, può pescare e può coltivare diversi tipi di ortaggi.
La maggior parte degli elementi che costituiscono la fattoria sono NFT come ad esempio gli NFT di tipo seme e gli NFT di tipo animale.
Su Farming Tales gestisco due fattorie:
- una fattoria mia
- la fattoria del progetto Cartel (@oneup-cartel)
Cartel è un progetto costruito sulla blockchain di Hive focalizzato principalmente sui giochi basati su blockchain ma è anche:
- una Meta Gaming Guild
- una Meta Curation
- un Meta Dividend Token
- un Servizio di Swap

La mia Strategia di Investimento su Farming Tales
La mia gestione dell'investimento del progetto Cartel su Farming Tales è iniziata il 29 gennaio 2022 dopo che @flauwy ha letto le mie valutazioni finanziarie sul gioco.
La mia strategia di investimento su Farming Tales è cambiata nel corso del tempo.
Inizialmente avevo calcolato un periodo abbastanza ridotto per raggiungere il punto di pareggio e iniziare a raccogliere i profitti ma poi, prima la diminuzione del valore di mercato di alcuni NFT e poi l'arrivo del Bear Market mi hanno portato a una scelta diversa.
Inizialmente ero focalizzato sulla raccolta delle ricompense di gioco (token SEST) e sullo stacking dei token SEST per ottenere token CBIT.
Quando ho visto che i token di Farming Tales iniziavano a perdere valore ho deciso di focalizzarmi sul trading degli NFT e in particolare sull'acquisto e sulla vendita degli NFT di tipo animale di rarità leggendaria.
La mia scelta fino ad ora si è dimostrata una scelta corretta e infatti sul wallet di Cartel ci sono 921 WAX liquidi che sono principalmente il frutto del guadagno ottenuto dalle operazioni di trading degli NFT di tipo animale che sono riuscito a portare a termine fino ad ora.
Il mio obiettivo attuale, sia per il mio investimento personale che per l'investimento di Cartel, è di trasformare Farming Tales che è un gioco play to earn in un gioco free to play.
Cartel mi ha affidato 1833 token WAX da investire su Farming Tales.
Quando avrò accumulato un quantitativo di 1833 WAX sul wallet di Cartel avrò raggiunto questo obiettivo.
Con 921 WAX liquidi sono a metà percorso (50.25%).
Negli ultimi 16 giorni ho venduto 2 NFT di tipo legendary animal e grazie a queste due vendite ho incrementato il quantitativo di WAX liquidi del 22.80% rispetto al mio precedente report (21 settembre 2022).
Nella fattoria di Cartel sono rimasti solo due animali di tipo epico:
- 1 NFT Harlequin Goat
- 1 NFT Grey Sheep
Se voglio continuare a fare operazioni di trading sugli NFT devo acquistare nuovi NFT di tipo animale.
E' tempo di comprare nuovi animali!
Quali animali comprare?
Quale metodo di acquisto utilizzare?
Gli NFT di tipo animals di Farming Tales possono essere acquistati tramite due modalità diverse:
- dal Market interno al gioco utilizzando i token SEST (Crafting)
- dalla sezione Market di AtomicHub o Neftyblocks utilizzando i token WAX
Ma c'è anche una terza possibilità: il Blending.
Dalla sezione Blends di Neftyblocks è possibile, partendo da un NFT animal di rarità inferiore ottenere un NFT animal di rarità maggiore utilizzando delle combinazioni di 1 o 2 NFT di rarità minore + un VOUCHER.
Per scegliere quali NFT acquistare e quale metodo di acquisto utilizzare ho costruito tempo fa una tabella che mi è utile per calcolare il guadagno per Harvest di ogni NFT di tipo animale e per calcolare il costo di acquisto più basso confrontando i vari metodi di acquisto possibili.
Nella mia tabella inserisco come input:
- i valori attuali dei token WAX, SEST e CBIT
- il costo di acquisto in WAX e SEST per ogni NFT in base al metodo di acquisto utilizzabile
Grazie ai calcoli nella mia tabella ho deciso di acquistare:
- 2 Pink Pig
- 1 White Goose
- 1 White Cow
Ho acquistato 4 animali di tipo comune che però li farò diventare di tipo leggendario tramite l'operazione di blending.
Ho deciso di far diventare leggendari anche i due animali epici che ho già nella fattoria di Cartel.
Per effettuare le operazioni di blending ho bisogno di:
- 10 VOUCHER da 4000 SEST
- 4 VOUCHER da 9000 SEST
Ho bisogno di un totale di 76000 SEST per acquistare i VOUCHER che mi servono:
- 8790 SEST sono già nel wallet
- ho acquistato 67478.64 SEST tramite la funzione SWAP di https://wax.alcor.exchange/
Ho speso in totale 190 WAX ma adesso la fattoria di Cartel ha 6 animali leggendari.
Le operazioni di Blending richiedono calcoli e tempo per essere eseguite ma ne vale la pena.
Ho speso 190 WAX per ottenere 6 animali leggendari.
Se avessi scelto di acquistare gli stessi 6 animali leggendari dal mercato avrei speso 524 WAX.
Cartel Investment: Report #24
OneUp Cartel ha investito nel progetto di Farming Tales in due momenti successivi:
- Primo investimento: 500 HBD (29 gennaio 2022)
- Secondo investimento: 250 WAX (1 marzo 2022)
Dalla conversione dei token HBD in token WAX ho ottenuto 1583 token WAX che sommati al secondo investimento di 250 WAX hanno prodotto un totale di 1833 token WAX.
1833 token WAX è quindi il toltale di token che ho avuto a disposizione per investire su Farming Tales.
Ho utilizzato i 1833 token WAX nel seguente modo:
- Acquisto di NFT: 1585.59 WAX
- Acquisto di Risorse WAX (CPU): 51.54 WAX
- Acquisto di 14970 token SEST: 195.00 WAX
- Costi per operazioni di trading su Alcor Exchange: 0.87 WAX
VALUE ASSETS + REWARDS
Il valore della collezione di NFT del progetto Cartel
Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere l'elenco aggiornato ad oggi (9 ottobre 2022) degli NFT di proprietà di Cartel con l'indicazione:
- dei prezzi di acquisto
- del metodo di pagamento utilizzato per acquistarli
- dei prezzi di mercato attuali su AtomicHub/NeftyBlocks
- della differenza tra il prezzo di acquisto e il valore attuale di mercato per ogni NFT acquistato.
Rispetto al mio report precedente la composizione della collezione di NFT del progetto Cartel è cambiata perchè ho acquistato gli animali leggendari che ho mostrato prima e perchè è aumentato il numero di NFT Seed Box.
Oggi registro anche un segnale positivo: alcuni NFT hanno aumentato il valore di mercato rispetto a 16 giorni fa.
In particolare il Green House che valeva 469 WAX oggi ha un valore di mercato di 627 WAX con un incremento di +158 WAX.
Per effetto del valore di mercato dei 6 NFT di tipo leggendario e per effetto dell'aumento del valore di alcuni NFT il valore totale della collezione di Cartel aumenta di oltre 500 WAX rispetto al report precedente.
Valore totale di mercato: 1385 WAX = 120.41$ (report precedente: 827.96 WAX = 87.91$)

Il valore dei token CBIT e SEST accumulati e non reinvestiti

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere il prospetto che ho creato per avere una visione sintetica e immediata dell'investimento su Farming Tales che gestisto per il progetto Cartel.
Nel prospetto il totale dei costi di investimento iniziale è il quantitativo totale di token WAX che ho avuto a disposizione da investire: 1833 WAX.
Rispetto al report precedente (22 settembre 2022) i risultati finanziari (Profit e ROI) in termini di WAX token sono migliorati molto.
Profit: +539.38 WAX = +46.88$ (Profit report precedente: +38.67 WAX = +3.32$)
ROI: +29.43% (ROI report precedente: +2.11%)
Sono contento di poter registrare questo netto miglioramento.
Per il progetto Cartel ho investito un totale di 1833 token WAX e ho ottenuto fino ad ora un valore totale dell'investimento (Assets + Rewards) di 2372.38 WAX: +539.38 WAX e quindi sono soddisfatto dei risultati che ho ottenuto ma c'è da fare un'altra valutazione finanziaria collegata al valore in dollari dei token WAX che è diminuitio molto rispetto al momento in cui Cartel ha investito su Farming Tales (0.28$ VS 0.08$).
Se la blockchain di Hive sta soffrendo relativamente poco la situazione generale di Bear Market la blockchain di WAX ha subito molto gli effetti del Bear Markete sembra in una situazione di stallo.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere il secondo prospetto che ho creato per tenere traccia di due risultati finanziari che tengono conto:
- del quantitativo di token WAX che ho avuto a disposizione da investire
- del valore dei 500 HBD e dei 250 WAX (investimenti iniziali) al momento della loro conversione (token HBD) e del loro utilizzo (token WAX)
- il valore attuale dell'investimento di Cartel in token WAX e in dollari.
L'investimento di Cartel raggiungerà il punto di break-even in termini di dollari quando e se il token WAX raggiungerà un valore di 0.2360$.
Quando Cartel ha investito su Farming Tales un token WAX valeva 0.2853$.
Nel caso WAX dovesse ritornare a quel valore il profitto in termini di dollari sarebbe di +118.52$ - ROI +21.23%
Considerazioni Finali
Quasi tutti i progetti blockchain hanno subito gli effetti del Bear Market.
Nonostante la situazione attuale considero Farming Tales un progetto con potenziale perchè è uno dei pochi giochi di farming basato su NFT che ha una bella grafica e un motore 3d e soprattutto è uno dei pochi giochi basato su blockchain che ha NFT collegati a beni reali di reali fattorie come ad esempio miele e zafferano.
Inoltre il team di sviluppo sta facendo un bel lavoro considerato che Farming Tales è un gioco che ha meno di un anno di vita.
Quando sarà rilasciato l'aggiornamento New Waxchester Farming Tales diventerà un gioco multy-player e le dinamiche di gioco saranno ampliate.
