IS EASY ACCESS A BLESSING? By @kronias

This is a very interesting question to discuss šŸ’

in the digital era like now we live in a world full of information that is very easy to access simply with a device connected to the internet, in just a matter of seconds we can get all the knowledge we need anytime and anywhere, even though access to information is now much cheaper and easier, then an important question arises!

"Does this convenience really make us knowledgeable and smarter than previous generations?"

as we already know, in the past, gaining knowledge was not as easy as it is today, before the internet and sophisticated information technology existed and of course scientists, academics and even ordinary people who were thirsty for knowledge had to take a long and hard way full of challenges to get the information they needed, one of the most valuable places in that era were large libraries and people had to fight hard to get access to books that were sometimes only available in distant places or developed countries, for example Try to imagine someone from Indonesia having to go to Iraq or Saudi Arabia in the past to get information, this was not something that was easy considering that in those days there was no adequate transportation like today.

However, the special thing is, because of all these limitations, the knowledge they gain is highly valued, because to get it they have to try hard, be committed and really understand the existing material, those who are able to master knowledge are not only because of the easy access they get but because perseverance, effort and time they spend studying this branch of knowledge, so for example where I live there is a story of a cleric (Sheikh Abdurrauf) who studied in Saudi Arabia to deepen his religious knowledge, so when he returned to his homeland he was then raise it to be mufti at that time, this is one example of how much value was given to the process of seeking knowledge in the past.

but the situation now is very different, now anyone who has access to the internet can learn whatever they want very easily, they can access articles, video tutorials, online courses, everything can be accessed in just a few clicks, information about everything from science , crypto, stocks, digital art and even past history, and it's all available for free on various online platforms, if in the past someone had to work extra hard to gain knowledge, but now it only takes a little effort and time, a huge difference far away like heaven and earth.

now let's get back to our main topic, IS EASY ACCESS A BLESSING?

or language that is easy to understand, will easier and cheaper access to information make us more knowledgeable? Or are we smarter than our predecessors?

for this I have to be a wise man, I don't want to be arrogant and immoral, because this is a question that is not easy to answer, even though today we can access information very quickly, the quality of the knowledge we obtain is not always proportional to the quantity of information available.

one of the biggest challenges in the digital world today is how much information is available, but not all of this information has the same quality, with so many sources of information on the internet, we often have to deal with information that has not been verified or even some that has been deliberately distributed to For certain purposes, even with various algorithms designed to provide us with the most relevant or popular content, we are often presented with information that is not always insightful or accurate.

The freedom to choose what you want to learn also has its own challenges, with the amount of information available we are often trapped in consuming superficial information, for example someone who comes to Google and starts reading short and easy to understand articles rather than diving into more complex topics, we tend to look for quick solutions and unconsciously here we start to get caught up in wrong information, we believe what we read is true because we think it is rational, but in reality it is not like that, try opening news related to investment and there you will find lots of people trapped in a ponzi scheme and scam, this is caused by the article short ones they read that do not discuss the concepts in detail.

In conclusion, whether or not it is easy to get information will not make someone smarter or blessed, each era has different advantages and uniqueness, but personally, if I was allowed to choose, I would choose "easy access to information" because I have I am very comfortable with the conditions of the world as it is today, so I will not make a decision to compare the past generation with our current generation, every era has a story, every story has a winner, so I prefer everything to be as it is.

but as an expression from the deepest recesses of my heart, easy access to knowledge is an extraordinary blessing for all of us who live in this current era, but it is also necessary to understand that this blessing will only be valuable if we are able to use it wisely and responsible.

Thank you very much for reading & see you soon ā˜ŗļø

I am glad that I live in such a time when access to information is cheap. You know, to write a book, not a fiction, is easy these days due to the presence of the internet.
This generation likes comfort a lot and that is what we are enjoying.

yeah you are right, easy access to information like now is a privilege for us, but we also have to ensure the validity of the information before swallowing it, if we don't find out the truth of what we read, I think we will end up being part of the lyrics of the Greenday song.
