Ups and Downs of Remote Work

in #hive-167922last year

Remote work has already become a popular term and continues to be practiced by many individuals. Typical of its domestic proximity, remains as the principal stand-in of the traditional work setting.

The convenience of its nature sommounts the false tenets in some minds as it isn't as rounded or well suited for some with the wrong approach especially as an employee than freelancing. As a fan myself a couple of small obstacles gave me a reality check and I kept wondering how it's going to be like on a larger scale.

So this is more of a thoughtful analysis on some of the merits and setbacks of telecommuting.

work-life balance as subjective
Given the ability to coherently integrate personal activities with our professional duties simultaneously, things can get really messy at times.

When the line between work and home life fades there's difficulty in keeping things in order so that work space doesn't keep deeping into our overwhelming personal affairs.

Many people assume the availability of teleworkers as infinite and it can be annoying to be dumped with work-related calls, texts and emails without limits.

Reasoning that we aren't working at an office where we have a distinct closing time is the opposite of working at home is a wrong impression.

While it's really up to us to instill limits I've seen many officials and the like getting mad for not being responded to when they would've liked. As 24 hours servers even ATMs lose network at times.

Perhaps it's the lack of setting clearer boundaries in the first place that results to this. source

Tech issues amidts ease of access
Technology as a major player in mobility, access to a computer, internet connection and conversing tools may be the perfect set of things needed to effectively work remotely.

Though problems with these entities arise regardless of where we are, certain issues are more fixable with ease at a conventional office already well equipped to deal with and replace any faulty device and bearing in mind that some of these disruptions require the expertise of a specialist.

This can either lead to unfinished work pilling up for the upcoming days or task overload frustrating us in working longer than usual and resulting into fatigue. source

Conclusion
Remote work is an effective way of working on the go while allowing the chance to perform other unrelated tasks because of its somewhat free nature.

It does come with its challenges too and aside from environmental influences, some of these do not alter the distinct nature of remote work as much as how we manage things.

Balancing both work and personal life can be hard and swaying too much into either leads to demand on the other due to lack of attention given.
