Poison is an offensive ability that has a 50% chance of causing an effect that reduces the attacker's life by 2 points each round. It's very interesting to have monsters that have it, when the opponent uses cards with a large amount of armor, because it is totally ignored, directly attacking the life of the one affected.
With the recent additions of new cards, new abilities have been introduced, many of which only one card has. Poison Burst is one of them. This ability causes the same effect as previously mentioned, with a 100% chance for whoever eliminates the holder of the ability, and a 50% chance for adjacent cards to the one that eliminated it.
Poison Burst Ability
Currently, only one card has this ability. It's Ulfga the Blighted. At maximum level, it is reborn once and can have this effect on the entire opposing team, if you're very lucky. She doesn't have any attacks and can't receive Weapons Training. Her only function is to serve as a tanker and apply Poison to her opponents.
Ulfga can be purchased with Vouchers via the Shop - Exclusive tab in the game.
I decided to test her in a tournament sponsored by Splinterlands itself, which took place in the first days of the year, where all the cards were available to play, without the need to buy or rent them.
I added two more cards that can actively apply the Poison effect through successful attacks. My idea was to make the whole opposing team poisoned, because since one of the rules prevented any kind of healing abilities, any extra damage to the enemies' life would be very effective.
One of these was the Chaos Adjutant, which chooses a target at random each round, evading possible monsters with Taunt and being able to hit a Poison on a card with less life, eliminating it quickly.
This is how the positioning and cards chosen by me and my opponent turned out. He used the Immortalis summoner, very good at dealing with magic attacks, which was 100% of my offensive base. So Poison was going to be key to winning.
Already in the first round, 4 of the opposing team's 6 monsters were poisoned. Considering the attacks they would suffer from my allies, half of their team would only have 2 more rounds of life.
In the second round, another opposing monster was poisoned, two of which were eliminated from the battle. The battle was going well, as I had the advantage in health and was well prepared defensively.
My team didn't manage to completely poison the entire opposing team, but it certainly helped to win the battle. It's an interesting strategy that I'm thinking of repeating in the future, as soon as I have some of the cards used on hand.

Ulfga the Blighted is a card that can bring a new meta, where a more defensive strategy can be made by letting it apply Poison to those who attack it. Combining this with one or more cards that have the ability Scattershot, which randomly attacks any opposing monster, you have an excellent strategy for eliminating the opponent's back line, where Poison will finish them off one by one. The rest of the team can focus on healing and defensive support skills to protect the team.

Essa habilidade causa o mesmo efeito citado anteriormente, sendo 100% de chance para aquele que eliminar o detentor da habilidade, e 50% de chance para as cartas adjacentes aquele que a eliminou.

Atualmente, só uma carta possui essa habilidade. É a Ulfga the Blighted. No nível máximo, ela renasce uma vez, podendo causar tal efeito em todo o time adversário, se você tiver muita sorte. Ela não possui nenhum tipo de ataque e não pode receber pelo Weapons Training, sendo sua única função servir como tanker e aplicar o Poison sobre seus adversários.

Eu resolvi testá-la em um torneio patrocinado pelo próprio Splinterlands, que ocorreu nos primeiros dias do ano, onde todas as cartas estavam disponíveis para jogar, sem a necessidade de comprar ou alugá-las.
Eu adicionei mais duas cartas que podem aplicar o efeito de Poison ativamente, através de ataques bem sucedidos. Minha ideia era fazer com que todo o time adversário ficasse "envenenado", pois já que uma das regras impedia quaisquer tipos de habilidades de cura, qualquer dano a mais sobre a vida dos inimigos seria muito efetivo.
Uma delas era o Chaos Adjutant, que escolhe um alvo aleatoriamente a cada rodada, escapando de possíveis monstros com Taunt e podendo acertar um Poison em uma carta com menor quantidade de vida, eliminando-a rapidamente.
Assim ficou o posicionamento e as cartas escolhidas por mim e pelo meu oponente. Ele utilizou o invocador Immortalis, muito bom para lidar com ataques mágicos, que era 100% da minha base ofensiva. Então, o Poison seria peça fundamental para conseguir vencer.
Já na primeira rodada, 4 dos 6 monstros do time adversário ficaram envenenados. Considerando os ataques que sofreriam dos meus aliados, metade de seu time teria apenas mais 2 rounds de vida.
Na segunda rodada, mais um monstro adversário foi envenenado, sendo dois desses eliminados da batalha. A batalha estava favorável, pois eu tinha vantagem na quantidade de vida e estava bem preparado defensivamente.
Meu time não conseguiu envenenar por completo toda a equipe adversária, mas com certeza isso ajudou a vencer a batalha. É uma estratégia interessante que penso em repetir futuramente, assim que tiver algumas das cartas utilizadas em mãos.

A Ulfga the Blighted é uma carta que pode trazer um novo meta, onde pode ser feito uma estratégia mais defensiva, deixando ela aplicar Poison naqueles que a atacam. Combinando isso com uma ou mais cartas que possuem a habilidade Scattershot, que ataca aleatoriamente qualquer monstro adversário, você tem uma excelente estratégia pra eliminar a linha de trás adversária, onde o Poison finalizará um a um. O resto do time poderá ser focado em curas e habilidades de suporte defensivo para proteger o time.
