The carvings in the shop showed totems and other sculptures in various stages of development. They were modern creations, though I couldn't help but look on in quiet reverence at this timeless tradition.
The nearby longhouse-style pavilion is host to carving demonstrations, cultural events, and other workshops that demonstrate traditional crafting methods and techniques. This might be the shop where the works gets done. Magnficent!

Wood carving is fascinating, I have never done it but I love it and the smell of wood. Great photos!
Cedar is one of the trees species used, and it smells wonderful. The carved wood panels look stunning when they're finished and colour has been applied.
My brother works in a carpentry shop and the smell of cedar is very good! I know!
The totems and carvings come in all shapes and sizes. They're really impressive with a lot of cultural elements in their design. The workshops must be fun and interesting :)
