Macros tend to reveal a hidden world that once discovered, it blows your mind. I wasn't going to linger more than I had to photographing this tree, but just for the sake of thoroughness, I turned my camera dial to microscope mode and took a closer look at the boughs.
Such fractal-like precision at this exquisite level of detail. Unfathomable processes spanning millions of years. The history of a species stamped on its outward form. Every tree is an open (genetic) book.
