The Photographs in this post are taken with my #iPhone 📱
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.
Let’s wrap up warm… even though it is 18 APRIL, the snow has not disappeared yet 🥾🧤🧣 and it was very cold 🥶
We start walking and see a little stream. It has come through the snow ❄️ the sound is a little trickle…
The sandy path guides us along #abandoned #cabins as we walk through this mountain #hamlet.
We go towards the deep forest now and those paths are not visible yet. Layers of snow cover them. We see snowmobile tracks we follow.
Another little stream next to us. This one is filled with water running down the mountain 🏔️ its origin a #spring higher up.
We see suddenly #tracks. Yes… I recognise them. They are from a #LYNX. A beautiful #WILD animal. A real #predator up in the northern mountains… 😳
Its walk is very easy to make out. The fur on its paws 🐾🐾🐾 drags the snow ❄️ what is a tell to know they are from this lynx. (The lines you see between the paw prints) A lot of wildlife you can discover up in the mountains when you know how to find it/ look out for it.
As we walk further we see it crossed our path a few times… somehow it is following it too 😁
Might we see it? Maybe… maybe not.
Our views are stunning 🤩
We walk further and find a few cabins. These are not abandoned but probably lived in during summer months. I see a cute little #statue. Looks like a little #troll 🧌
The snow is getting deeper, but we continue our walk.
We see the forest is getting thicker now 🌲🌳
No cabins or buildings left. I like walks like this. Just us and nature… raw nature. 🥰
A hunters seat, to count and #observe the wildlife.
The winding path… only one track of a snowmobile is visible. A very fresh track as you can see.
As we continue walking… we are sinking in further and further. The snow is deep. Next to us we see the tracks of the lynx again 😎
It is following the path too haha
Shall we go into the forest? 🌳 yes, why not. 😊 This path is not maintained and it has been a while since a snowmobile drove over it, to make it better to walk on. We sink even further in the snow now ❄️
Next to the trees we see the snow is melting. 🫠 it created these deep open areas around the tree.
We continue… even though we are struggling. This is a short cut to a road. 😎
When we reached the road half way down the mountain we look back where we came from.
After we crossed the road we walk through thick snow, as I saw a cabin I wanted to check out. The sun is warming our faces… it is bitter cold 🥶 The bird in the sky makes this capture special 😎
Let’s explore this cabin… we walk around it.
We enter as one side is fully open. Look at those beams… the timber. I could make something out of it hahaha 🤣
A shame it fell apart.
The roof structure seems ok-ish still 🤓
Another seat for a hunter inside this cabin. You see the counting of wildlife on the wall… no idea how to read it other than dates.
Looking out 😊
When will all the snow melt… not for a while I am sure 😋 let’s enjoy the beautiful views as we walk back.
On our route back, this time different as we were struggling in the deep snow through the forest 🌳 we see more tracks of the lynx. My footprint next to it tells you how big the paws 🐾 are.
And off it goes into the distance… 😁 beautiful… this time we didn’t see this wild animal. Maybe one day 😎
…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
