This is life. Everyone is trying to leverage on every available opportunity for survival, and self-projection. This can result in people being deeply self-centered and competitive. That's how the system conditions people. It's either you're at the top, in the middle, at the bottom, or nowhere to be found. Nobody really cares where, as long as you’re not standing in their way.
So the choice is yours. It’s either you create your own happiness or you drool over your own circumstances. Because, after all is said– and seen, and heard–and done, you'll take a bow.. You can't even tell when or how.
I have long lost the grace of worry. God has helped me with that. When I checked my fingers and saw how unequal they were, mhen, I put everything on God. I have seen people whose situation is far worse than mine, and I didn't know whether to thank God. It's crazy how we think or feel we're the only ones at the receiving end, taking all the crumbs and bullshit of life.
I had plans to do epic shit, and I did, a few. Only that I didn't plan for my plans not going according to plan, and most of it went down to shit.
The struggle has been real. For some of us, there's no base to fall back to. We're just all out in the field, for better or for worse, exposed to all the things life hurls at us. It's the only place God has been a total refuge.
Here, I’m not held by my own strength. In this open field, I've seen friends become foes, family turned into adversaries; enemies have become allies, and strangers have been helpers.
By the Hand of God I've survived perils that were supposed to kill me. It’s only when I think about it that I realize what God has done for me.
None of us is too prepared for what life may hurl at us. Some people have been so hit by an overnight breakthrough they didn't prepare for such that their feet couldn't hold them up—and down they went.
Some have seen glory days almost all their life, and couldn't live through the sudden storm that rocked their boat—and down they went.
No one knows the formula. It's just times and seasons at work, and the choice to take it easy as they unfold.
Life will not encourage you to be lazy too, but won't tell you what to do with your hands. You will have to decide on that— and the Bible gives a useful tip:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)
And then,
Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. Ecclesiastes 9:7 (KJV)
Learn to enjoy the fruit of your labor, whether it is a wage, a salary, or profit. Enjoy.
Because:
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Ecclesiastes 9:5 (KJV)
One day it will all be over for you. Life will still go on. Those mounting pressures on your head will move on. Your own race will end. So choose the kind of life you want to live before you leave.
Whether life is fair to you or not does not matter, and will not matter. Don't ruin your mind with worry.
You gerrit?
