Hello everyone I hope you have all had enjoyable work week mine was full of new and interesting things to learn. This past week I need to go to the museum in the v&a waterfront to do a minor service of their old system. I need to work on these very large units call the air handling unit there are over 20 of them throughout the museum.
We need to clean them out switch out the filters and check all the v belts and fans to make sure there was no wear and tear a few of the belts where cracked and needed replacing. And then another thing I also learnt during my time there is how to service a humidifier it's not too hard job it just takes time they made a fire has a boiling tank inside of it that is extremely hot so it ordered cooler down we need to drain the system of water and refill it so that it will cool down the boiling tank this needs to be done approximately 3 times to cool it down enough but it is still a bit on the warm side. Once the technician on duty was done showing how to do it I had to go to the third floor and to the museum's hotel to service the three humidifiers there.
I want that was done we need to get back to servicing the rest of the AHU's. Along with those we also need to service some mid wall and cassette units as well they were in the offices and storage rooms.
This whole job took three of us a week to complete.
Now for something a little bit extra I remembered that the museum gives a free ticket to South African citizen on a Wednesday so I decided after work to go and check out or the art I have been there before but every few months they change the exhibits which is a bit of a relief because the last time I was there this art was extremely weird.
