SPLINTERLANDS - HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LADDER - FIRE FOCUS

If you are not aware by now, I must inform you that the update for the new reward system is live! I am very hyped for the new changes and I believe that made the game much more fun and fair! The major change is that your skill and the knowledge of the battle are valued more than before for sure! I am saying that because the number of the chest you can open now depends on your skill and the cards you own or rent!
After my brief comment about the new changes, I want to make clear that the initiative once again is the Social media Challenge from Splinterlands and our goal is to promote the game in a fun and instructive way and to bring more engagement to the game on the Hive platform! If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part if you are new to @splinterlands, I will make a summary for you!
I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words! If you are familiar with the game skip this part! So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get (such as NFT-cards, etc). If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

THE BATTLE

Summoner Selection

This is a summoner that I really enjoy playing and usually gives me a lot of flexibility to construct my deck because the +1 Speed that grants to all our monsters is pretty useful whether you decide to play a Melee, Range or Magic damage oriented formation! If I want to be honest with you I must tell you that if I want to play a Melee-focused team I will choose Malric Inferno over Pyre! Keep in mind that every choice must be taken after you inspect the enemy's battle history! Winrate has a lot of impacts now on the rewards you are receiving, so you should really try your best to win!

Ruleset

• Close Range: Range attack monsters can attack from the first position.
• Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.

Team Formation

• The first monster I used is the Furious Chicken, the reason is obviously to tank the first hit from my opponent's monster!
• The second monster I used is Tusk the Wide, truly a great tank defender for my team and is doing an excellent job against my enemy's magic damage!
• My third choice was Lava Launcher, and this is a very OP card because of its stats! Also, it has the Close-Range ability that translates into a very reliable option for the tank option!
• The fourth pick was Goblin Shaman, a very reliable low mana magic damage dealer and it has the ability Weaken which is very useful!
• My fifth pick was Flamesmith and I chose this card because it's an excellent damage dealer with the very useful ability Shatter!
• My last pick was Ettin Spearman, and the reason was the high damage and health of this monster! Also, it has the ability Piercing which can be very useful in some cases!

How to approach the battle

When you face the rule Close Range, you should not worry about your main tank dying and place high HP/Speed monsters at the second or even first position in some cases! The summoner you should choose would be good if it grants you a bonus at Range damage or it gives you more Speed. Also remember that whenever you suspect that your enemy is going to play Mylor, a Range oriented formation is a great way to defeat your opponent!
