Last Saturday, January 11 seems to be an auspicious date. A friend and I were to attend another friends wedding. It will be held in Cavinti, Laguna which is three hours drive from Metro Manila. We decided to meet at 8 A.M. in BGC. I arrived earlier and took some photos of people doing their morning walks.
Thirty minutes later and my friend hasn't shown up yet so I gave him a call. The bastard is still asleep and it's apparent that he will be late so I decided to eat a light breakfast in nearby Jolibee.
Around 9 am he arrived and we're off to our long drive.
While traversing the Skyway, we saw black smoke billowing from afar. It seems there's a fire.

Looks like it just started since there were no firetrucks yet. From the news the following day:

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Continuing our journey, we can already see mountain ranges. There were also plants sold by the roadside.
We stopped by Iskargu Restaurant in Calauan, Laguna along the way. I wrote about our experience in this post.
After our meal we continued on our journey and we passed by several towns.

The Pagsanjan arc was built in 1800s and remains an attraction.
We are nearing our destination when it started to drizzle. We are already travelling by the mountain side.
We made it and reached the church before the wedding began.

The church itself is very old and first built in the 1600s.
After the wedding, we headed to the reception. It was held in Caliraya Springs Golf Club.
The place hosted the Japanese emperor when he visited the Philippines in 2016.
The place affords a nice view.

There were around two hundred guests that fit in the area.

It was already late when dinner was served but the food is delicious.
It was already eight PM and raining hard when the reception was done. After a few more pictures with the bride and groom we headed home for another long drive on a rainy night. It was my turn to drive so I wasn't able to take photos of the return trip. I was already sleepy so I had to take it slow. We finally got home shortly before midnight.
