in #hive-1707982 years ago

Mina was a girl of slim build, brown skin like cinnamon, brown eyes and long curly light brown hair. She lived with her aunt Lila since she was a baby, because her parents had a car accident, since then her aunt was in charge of her upbringing, she was a single , very sweet as honey, with a noble heart, she worked as a cosmetology assistant in a cosmetics factory.

While the girl was at school during recess, a group of children with musical instruments caught her attention. She asked her teacher, "What are they doing with those instruments?" the teacher replied, "Those kids are in the school band." When she got home, she changed her clothes and talked to her aunt whom she loved as a mother "I want to belong to the school student band, but you have to go and sign me up", her aunt replied "daughter, I would like to sign you up, but first I have to ask permission at work", the girl accepted what her mother was telling her with a smile on her face.

One morning Mrs. Lila was at work, she told her boss that she had to leave early because she had to go to the girl's school. In the middle of the morning she went to the school, she talked to the principal to enroll Mina in the group of students, when she finished she passed by the classroom telling her "I already enrolled you, you have to attend your music practice every afternoon".

On the first day of music the girl was very excited, she felt butterflies in her tummy. Her teacher asked her "what instrument would you like to play?", she replied very enthusiastically "I like the violin", her teacher made a comment "this is the instrument you are going to use, it is borrowed", she smiled and accepted the suggestion. When she got home, she explained to her mother what her music teacher had told her.

Time went by, until the girl became a teenager. She was no longer in the estudiantina of the school, she became a member of the National System of Orchestras of the nation, her violin was a little old, its strings were worn out.

Being in his music classes, he saw a paper on the billboard, it was a musical contest with the unpublished song, he immediately went running to the office and signed up. When she got home, she threw her things on the living room furniture, locked herself in her room for hours, almost until midnight, she had composed a song called Mis tres amores, it reflected the absence of her parents and the great love with which her aunt had raised her, at that moment she started practicing the song every night.

The day of the contest arrived, Mrs. Lila had asked for permission from her work, since that moment was very special. When she arrived at the site the young lady was very nervous, it was the first time she was going to debut as a soloist, her aunt gave her some words of encouragement "daughter, look at your friends and your teacher, they came to see you, remember that your mother and father from heaven are watching you, win or lose I support you". When it was her turn, her legs were trembling, her hands were sweating, but she took a deep breath and began to play, it was a beautiful melody, which sensitized the heart, so much so that the audience and the jury began to sob, no one had ever heard that song before, Suddenly juashhh, a string broke, the audience was stunned, she felt like a clock that stopped the time, then she heard chac, chac, chac, it was her teacher who ran quickly and gave her another violin and as if nothing happened she continued playing.

At the moment of making the selection, Mr. Juan, who was part of the jury, said "we are going to call all fifteen participants, so that they receive a strong applause, for their participation, now yes: first place Pedro with his saxophone, second place Luis with his trumpet, third place, despite the difficulty, but it was a song that touched our soul Mina with her violin", the auditorium overflowed with applause, she hugged her aunt and at the same time cried with joy. With the money she won in the contest she bought a new violin, that song that I believe, led her to reap more triumphs.

Very nice your story and Mina's bravery when in the middle of the concert a violin string broke and she continued her piece with the violin her teacher gave her. Have a nice evening.

At no point do you say, directly, that Mina cannot afford a violin, we only get this impression from the interaction between protagonists. This is an excellent technique in storytelling, which “shows” rather than “tells” and it always makes a story more interesting because it demands attention from readers, which engages them more readily.

Sweet story, nicely told.
