There's this saying that "after the rain comes shine" but here in my city it's been "after the rain comes more rain", lol. It's been a rainy day, infact a rainy week so to say. All through this week, we've been blessed by the rain and today's own started in the wee hours of the morning and hasn't given a break. This is a perfect example of raining cats and dogs, lol. Well we're in July and it's one of the peak time for rain here. Also we usually experience seven days rain after which it goes on break sometime in August.
The weather is cold and some of the roads are feeling the impact of the rain as they are already flooded especially the ones not tarred and those with no gutters or drains. That's the challenges people living in these areas face, whenever there is heavy downpour, the aftermath is flooded roads, even to some houses.
The entrance to some compounds are not left out, as they're covered with water too.
Without much ado, let me show you these photos I captured.
I came to run errand for my mom in one of the houses you see here and this was shocked when I saw how the entrance to the compound was covered by water. I almost turned back because the water was above my ankles but remembering what brought me there, I had to find a way to pass through. It was after I had found a much safe place that I took the pictures.
Taking a closer look at the houses, you can see the damage the water is doing, weakening the foundation. Even the paints there are washing off. I just hope they'll find a way to prevent the water log. If only there were drains along the main road, they will have just channeled the water there but sadly there is none so they'll have to continue living with it that way, praying for when the rain stops so it can dry up.
Immediately I got home, I soaked my feet in warm water because they were cold after which I applied balm on them and wore my stockings. Then I took this drink - leaf of life infused in hot water to keep my body warm. I hate catching cold so I do all I can to fight it, hehehe.
That's all I've got to share with in this round #reflectionhunters 176
