Leaders sometimes go overboard in building their own domains, focused more on gaining collaboration for personal gain than on leveraging the skills of others.

However, such empires are short-lived, for when their creator is gone, it is all over.

What has been built will vanish without a trace. The reason is the failure to generate new leaders.

The harsh reality is how difficult it is for many leaders to delegate authority, for they do not conceive that others can do things faster or better.

Thus, there will never be empowered leaders who will deploy and evolve on their own. "It is wonderful when people believe in their leader, but better when the leader believes in his or her people.

This would work if the focus were to develop thinking leaders rather than uncritical followers. Empowering those who know how to act independently.

It is extraordinary when a task is delegated and it is accomplished threefold.

But the reality is that many choose to maintain a monopoly on power, even as they destroy the potential of those around them.
