ChatGPT to MIDI Tutorial: How to Create Music on ChatGPT
Hello everyone!
I took a reasonable amount of time to figure how to make ChatGPT create a music sheet that can be imported on music workstations like FLStudio.
So I decided to write a quick tutorial on how I'm doing this, so everyone else can also do it without having to bash their head like I did :D
- Ask ChatGPT to write a melody that you want (type of music, etc.), and ask it to write "in ABC notation". That's the important part: it has to be written on ABC code, as ChatGPT can create it perfectly!
- Copy the code generated by ChatGPT, paste on Notepad, and then save the file as "whatever_name.abc"
- Convert the .abc file into .midi file using whatever software/site you desire. I'm using MeloBytes (https://melobytes.com/en/app/abc2midi) as it's free and works directly on the browser. Another possibility that I've already tried is downloading the freeware EasyABC (https://sourceforge.net/projects/easyabc/) and installing it on your computer.
- Import the .midi file in your favourite music workstation. I use FLStudio, and the path to import the file is Piano Sheet => File => Import MIDI File
Voilà! The melody created by ChatGPT is now in your workstation so you can use it as you like 😅
