Sometimes, we need a bit of time off and just head off to somewhere high up with a stunning view. Kundasang, Sabah is one of those destinations. The lodge here is quite affordable and best of all, it comes with a stunning view.
The amazing view from Mile 36 lodge
Lots of trees. The view here is priceless.
I was staying here for two days. I felt sad in a way as it was the last couple of days before the journey ended. So while I was here, I had to enjoy every single bit of this. I love exploring.
I was at a restaurant nearby cause I was hungry.

One thing about staying in the Kundasang area is that usually, I usually do not drive outside at night as it can get quite dark. So, I had to order some food before it got dark.
It was raining outside.
There is even ostrich meat on their menu. I wonder where they got their ostrich meat.

The Kundasang Restaurant
This is no ordinary restaurant. It was high up in the skies.

I had to screen shot this so that in the future, I would remember where I went for my dinner in the Kundasang area. This area is quite high up above the skies. You can literally see the skies quite near.
After dinner was ordered, we were back at the lodge.

Birds of paradise
These are quite attractive to look at. The contrasting colors as well as the shapes.
Lavender
These are usually not found in the lower parts of the city. I was surprised that these were found here.
The kitchen area
Made of wooden planks. This was quite a comfortable area that I enjoyed staying in while I was there. I ate dinner here a lot and all this while there was this chef who would throw his tantrum.

The cempedak
This has some resemblance with the jackfruit with many fruits inside. However, the flesh is quite soft.
Wow. This was quite cheap. This was huge. I ate this for dinner with my wife, my mom-in-law, and my sister-in-law.

The temperature was less than 20 degrees. Usually, it would have been above 30 degrees from where I am from.

For the few days that I stayed here, I couldn't get a clear view of this mountain so I was determined to wake up early to see if I could get a glimpse of the mountain which I suceeded in doing.
Staying at this lodge had this great advantage and it was the amazing view of Mount Kota Kinabalu. When the weather is perfect, this mountain can be seen clearly.
