It is Saturday again. Time passes rapidly. A great breakfast to start the day is the best. One of the best local delights to try out in Miri, Sarawak is the Kolo Mee. The noodles in this particular cafe is handmade. Springy.
KOLO MEE
AH LO noodles
Self service cafe. You have to go to the counter to order and the waitress will send the noodle to you table.
A lot of paper cut outs to commemorate their history.
On the second right, there is a poster on top that shows the couple and how their noodles are made.
Order here
Only a few dishes to order which is good to reduce ordering dilemma.
My wife went and order for us.
Sometimes, pictures capture the funniest things that weren't seen at that time. That man was actually looking at me while I took this photo. Hahaha..
Ordered a cup of coffee
Freshly brewed coffee.
My wife @janicetan while we wait for our food.
Some chilli sauce on the table in case we need to put some in our noodles.
Lau Su Fern
Rat tail noodles. Made of rice. With mince meat and some vegetables. The best thing to do is to wait till all the noodles have been eaten. Then there is the bits left at the bottom where the gravy mixes in and that is the yummiest part.
KOLO MEE
Sarawak's national breakfast
Anywhere in Sarawak, this is what is eaten for breakfast. The noodles are usually made at a local noodle factory and bought fresh everyday. Affordable and highly addictive. No joke. I've got many friends who live by the Kolo Mee. They eat this for breakfast every single morning. It is simple yet delicious.
