Hi my friend, how are you? I live in Miri and at times I visit my mother-in-law in Brunei. My wife is from Brunei. So what does this country look like? Not a lot of people have visited Brunei. Have you ever visited Brunei or heard of it?
Some stuff to bring to Brunei to eat. Why did I pack some of this stuff to Brunei? My mom-in-law's house is in the middle of Brunei's main capital city area Miri. So it is a long drive for a burger.
This is a post where I post a log of the things I do in a day.
The burger. This is a packaged Burger. Have you seen anything like this before? It has the bun pre-packed inside with the meat and mayo. So it is an instant burger minus the veggies inside.
A pack of snacks with a nice design
Inside this pack are lots of small packets of snacks.
The bag of snacks has a cute little squirrel on the cover.
Lots of potato chips in small packs in a big pillow pack. Looks like a pillow.
Then, I headed out for breakfast
After packing up some snacks. It was time to get out to eat breakfast. I went to eat breakfast at this very popular shop somewhere in town. Early in the morning.
After eating breakfast, I went to the local supermarket with my wife to get some groceries.
The checkout counter was full of people trying to pay. We usually spend around an hour or two at a supermarket and hunt for food. Usually, we search for new items that are being sold at the supermarket.
Everyone's trolley seems full.
After paying for our groceries at the counter, I drove around the city.
The new mural was almost completed.
The mural is currently the largest in Sarawak and has already taken a couple of months to paint. The artist has been painting this mural for a long time. This mural is at least eight storeys tall.
I saw vlogs of the artist spending his time up high painting the mural even at night and when it is raining. This is now a tourist attraction.
Then after that, It was time to get to Brunei.
One of the most important things to do before heading to Brunei is to make sure to go early. The second thing is to use the website to find out if there is a traffic build-up at the borders or not.
So far, so good. Miri to Brunei doesn't have much queue. There was a time when I had to queue for five hours and my petrol almost ran out.
Brunei cars have number plates that begin with B. This is still at the Malaysian checkpoint.
Brunei's checkpoint. This is what it looks like on the Brunei side. The traffic is still manageable when you can see the immigration post.
Brunei checkpoints are at times quite strict.
No alcoholic drinks, cigarette smoke, or even lottery tickets can be brought into Brunei.
After a bit of queueing, I was in Brunei. Do you want to see more of Brunei? If there is anything you want to know about Brunei, feel free to ask.
After a long day driving and exploring around the city, I had a name. The next two pictures are the view of my mother-in-law's compound. She is a clean person and loves to make sure that everything is neat and clean.
I was about to help do some cleaning the next day.
I had a good sleep. Will continue to the next post about Brunei after this post.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.
