Teníamos planificado ir un fin de semana, pero al final resulto que debimos quedarnos más de la cuenta, en ese entonces estaban los cortes programados de electricidad, y los centros comerciales tenían un horario diferente para abrir, los domingos las tiendas que pensábamos visitar estaban cerradas, así que nos quedamos 3 días más en el hotel, que gracias a dios tenia planta eléctrica y no se veía afectada por este racionamiento, al igual contaba con agua las 24 horas, lo cual para esa época era algo extraordinario, lo que se nos complicó un poco fue la compra de pasaje para regresar, porque llevamos carro y la cola para comprar el pasaje del automóvil era un sufrimiento, igual yo estaba feliz por tener esos días extra de vacaciones.

El día que pudimos ir a "La Asunción", había bastante gente en los alrededores de la Iglesia, se podía observar la cantidad de vendedores artesanales que se encontraban vendiendo suvenires de todo tipo relacionado con la Virgencita, estatuillas, medallas, estampas, pulseras, anillos, todo lo que te imaginas ahí lo encontrabas, en mi caso compre una medalla de la virgen del valle que venia en un colgante y me lo puse de inmediato, fue una gran bendición para mi estar en Margarita cerca de la virgen, ya que mi embarazo no fue fácil y recuerdo que le ore mucho a ella, y me concedió el deseo que tanto le pedí, por lo que este viaje para mi representaba fue una promesa cumplida.

Yo había ido en otras ocasiones a Margarita y lo que se acostumbrara comprar para llevar de regalo a tu regreso eran los chocolates tablerones, el queso de bola y el whiskey que comprabas en Rattan, pero ya la situación era diferente y toda había cambiado una barbaridad era la época de la escasez, había colas en los supermercados para comprar los productos básicos, pero lo que había en cantidad eran los panes, a diferencia de mi ciudad que para comprar un pan había que hacer una cola kilométrica, por lo que cuando todas esas panaderías llenas de pan, eso fue lo que compre para traerme a cumana, pan salado, canillas, pan de sándwich, pan dulce, bombones, pan de queso, de jamón, ja, ja, ja panes de todo tipo, le traje dos bolsas resueltas a mis padres y dos más para mí.
