Hallo liebe Community,
natürlich wollten wir uns auch die kleine Kirche und das Fischrestaurant im kleinen Hafen von Plimmiri nicht entgehen lassen. Bei der kleinen Kirche handelte es sich um die Kirche der Jungfrau Zoodochos Pigi, was irgendetwas mit einem Brunnen des Lebens zu tun haben muss. Genaueres konnten wir aber leider nicth in Erfahrung bringen. Die Kirche zumindest war etwas verfallen und teilweise notdürftig restauriert. Sie versprühte aber einen gewissen Charme. Der aus Kieselsteinen gelegte Boden hatte es mir besonders angetan. An der Seite der Kirche fanden wir noch ein aufwendiges Grab das wie man an den frischen Blumen sehen konnte auch regelmäßig gepflegt wurde. Leider konnten wir auch hier nicht erkennen, um wessen Grab es sich hier handelte.
Direkt nebenan schauten wir uns noch das viel beworbene Fischrestaurant an. Ein schönes kleines Restaurant im griechischen Stil alles in blau-weiß gehalten. Auf den Tischen Olivenöl und ein sehr schöner überdachten Außenbereich. Auf eine Leine waren mehrere Tintenfische zum Trocknen aufgereiht. Diese waren bereits ausgenommen und vermutlich der aktuelle Tagesfang, der abends den Gästen serviert werden sollte. Also fangfrisch, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Da es sehr heiß war und wird lustig waren, beschlossen wir kurzerhand eine Cola im Restaurant zu trinken. Auf der schönen Terrasse genossen wir dabei den Ausblick auf den Hafen von Plimmiri.
Auf unserem Rückweg gingen wir an den Strand entlang auf unser Hotel zu. Das laufen auf dem Kiesstrand war ganz schön anstrengend und wir kamen recht schnell ins Schwitzen. So beschlossen wir Unsere Schuhe auszuziehen und im Wasser zu laufen, was für etwas Abkühlung sorgte. Der Weg am Strand entlang war weiter als es zuerst aussah aber wir hatten ja Zeit. Am Hotel Strand angekommen sahen wir direkt einen Weg durch die Dünen ins Hotel.
Etwas geschafft aber um einige Eindrücke reicher sprangen wir erst mal zur Abkühlung in den Pool.

of course we didn't want to miss the small church and the fish restaurant in the small harbor of Plimmiri. The small church was the church of the Virgin Zoodochos Pigi, which must have something to do with a fountain of life. Unfortunately, we couldn't find out any more details. The church at least was a bit dilapidated and had been partially restored. But it exuded a certain charm. I was particularly taken with the floor made of pebbles. At the side of the church we found an elaborate grave which, as you could see from the fresh flowers, was also regularly cared for. Unfortunately, we couldn't see whose grave this was.
Right next door we took a look at the much-advertised fish restaurant. A beautiful little Greek-style restaurant, all decorated in blue and white. Olive oil on the tables and a very nice covered outdoor area. Several squid were lined up on a line to dry. These had already been gutted and were probably the current day's catch, which was to be served to the guests in the evening. So freshly caught, in the truest sense of the word. Since it was very hot and we were having fun, we decided to have a Coke in the restaurant. On the beautiful terrace we enjoyed the view of the port of Plimmiri.
On our way back we walked along the beach to our hotel. Walking on the pebble beach was quite exhausting and we quickly started to sweat. So we decided to take off our shoes and walk in the water, which cooled us down a bit. The path along the beach was longer than it first looked but we had time. When we arrived at the hotel beach we saw a path through the dunes to the hotel.
A little tired but with a few impressions richer, we jumped into the pool to cool off.
