in #splinterlands8 days ago

Hi all,

Introduction

Another post in this series. Thank you for your support in the previous posts 😊

This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things – so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of gameplay, strategy, comparison with other cards, and a market analysis of its price. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into in this series, and your support is much appreciated!
In this edition I will be looking at the Gargoya Scrapper.

Comparative Analysis

How does this card compare to other similar ones?

Vs. Chaos Agent (Neutral): Chaos Agent relies on Dodge and Phase for evasion, while Gargoya Scrapper has Void, making it better against Magic teams.
Vs. Pelacor Conjurer (Life): Pelacor Conjurer has Flying, Magic Reflect, and Phase, making it a superior anti-Magic tank, but Gargoya Scrapper is cheaper and still viable.
Vs. Soul Fiend (Neutral): Soul Fiend has no attack but serves as a sacrificial unit, whereas Gargoya Scrapper provides a low-cost tank with Void.

Key Takeaway
Gargoya Scrapper is a 1-mana tank that becomes notably stronger at Level 3 with Void, making it a cheap and effective Magic damage sponge.

Synergies

Best Pairings:
Grandmaster Rathe (Life Splinter): Grants +1 Armor and Void Armor, making Scrapper much harder to kill.
Pelacor Conjurer (Life Splinter): Works well together to shut down enemy Magic attackers.
Venari Crystalsmith (Life Splinter): Can heal Gargoya Scrapper, extending its usefulness in battle.
Scavo Hireling (Neutral): Repairs its Armor, improving durability.

Splinter Synergies:
Life Splinter: Benefits from Armor boosts and Magic resistance.
Dragon Splinter: Can be used as a cheap frontline tank in Dragon setups.

Ruleset Performance

Favorable Rulesets:
Little League: Fits well since it has 1 mana.
Weak Magic: Armor stays intact, making it more durable.
Melee Mayhem: Can attack from any position, improving its utility.

Challenging Rulesets:
Noxious Fumes: Lacks Immunity and dies quickly to Poison.
Unprotected: Loses Armor, making it easier to defeat.

Market Analysis

Price Overview
Regular Foil: $0.01–$0.05 per BCX
Gold Foil: $0.50–$1.00 per BCX

Investment Potential
Cheap 1-mana tank with Void, making it useful in niche situations.

Conclusion

Gargoya Scrapper is a low-mana, cost-effective tank that gains value at Level 3 with Void, making it useful in Magic-heavy battles. While it lacks offensive power, it is a solid option for Little League and anti-Magic strategies in Life Splinter teams.
