When one decides to learn a new language, he sets out for a rewarding and enriching experience.
Learning a new language is much fun and has a lot of importance.
In this post ill be highlighting some methods of learning a new language and the best approaches to take.
But first, here are a few reasons one may decide to learn a new language:

• Cultural understanding

To learn a new language here are a few tips to keep in mind;

Define your purpose

Before starting to learn a language, keep in mind the reason for learning it. Knowing the purpose of learning will help you to keep it serious and it will serve as a motivation

Select the right resources

There are a lot of resources at the fingertip of a language learner. I recommend both digital and traditional methods.

Digital platforms for learning a language include:

• Duolingo
• busuu
• babbel
• rosetta stone
• memrise
• lingodeer
• Pimsleur

I have been using duolingo and busuu so I strongly recommend those two.

To learn a new language, one may also choose to enroll in institutions that teach the language or have a private tutor

Immerse yourself

Immersing yourself in a language involves:

• LISTENING ACTIVELY: This involves tuning in to podcasts, radio stations, listening to music in the chosen language.

• READING: Read texts in the chosen language, start with simpler books like children's book, articles or novels. This helps to build vocabulary and comprehension.

• WRITE: Write down new word you learn everyday and practice writing down phrases and sentences that you make up.

• THINK IN THE LANGUAGE: Try to think about things and use the language to communicate in your head

• ENGAGE IN CONVERSATIONS: If possible, practice speaking with native speakers, this will help to hone your conversation skills.

Be consistent

Consistency is the key to achieve anything, being consistent in language learning helps you to achieve your goals.
Set realistic goals and schedules to reach each day and be sure to complete it.

and lastly...

Stay persisent and motivated

It takes a lot of time and patience to learn a new language, If possible, make friends with people who has the same goal of language learning, and also those who have successfully learnt a language. This way you'll always stay motivated and keep learning.
