Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
This is a publication based on the suggested topic proposed in the Hive Learners community through their discord, which on this occasion is "The Useless Apps".
The topic I am going to talk about today is quite interesting because generally with this new, fast-paced world, in which we are flooded with so many applications that, due to their propaganda and advertisements, become so attractive, and that in a way or in another way they make us install them on our cellular devices, it is evident that many people are not going to have the time necessary to use them first, nor to enjoy them at all times, because currently marketing is very well focused and makes Let's download the application and have it there. In my case, what happened is quite curious, it turns out that my phone has a default application called Google Files and this is administrative, it is precisely like an application that controls all the files that I have on the phone. It shows me photos and files I've used recently and has a clean phone option, which is usually what I use to delete all the content I don't need. This option shows me the applications that I do not use. Generally I don't take much care to look at this section because I don't use it, but due to today's topic that we are presented with, obviously I am interested in reviewing it, and to my surprise I find that according to this I have nine applications that I don't use. Below you can see the photos that I share with you where the application shows me which ones I do not use. It's quite interesting because when I click the button to see the characteristics of each one and see if I can delete the applications that I don't use, the list appears and I see the amount of space that each one takes up. In my case particularly it is very important because my phone is low-end and saving as much space as possible for me is something that is vital. Here I see that the first application is Electron Cash. It is a Bitcoin Cash wallet, since for a long time I was managing and doing operations with BCH, because in one of the sites where I created content, I generated Bitcoin Cash. So I was using this app for a long time, about two years, and I still keep my Bitcoin Cash wallet on my phone because it is the safest and easiest to use that I have found. I also have the app on my computer, the desktop app, but for security reasons I also keep the app on my phone so that in case I have any problems with the computer, I can use it through the phone, so I have a backup and ready to use immediately in case of emergency. Secondly we see that the Hive Keychain appears!, and you may wonder how it is possible that the Hive Keychain is one of the least used applications, and it is because I have the Hive Keychain for security reasons also in the phone, in case for any reason my computer breaks or whatever, I can access my wallet through the Hive Keychain on the phone. That's the main reason I have it and don't use it, because obviously 99% of the time I use the Hive Keychain from my desktop computer. This is like a backup that I have on my phone. Additionally, in third place we have the VPN Lat application, which is the VPN that I use for when I need to access any website, because we know that here in Venezuela they sometimes place blocks, there is censorship and using this VPN I can skip this type of blocks and access pages, which often have Venezuela banned from being able to access services. I use this VPN. but I don't usually turn it on very often because it is also an application that makes my phone very slow. and it's not worth it since I generally access everything through my computer. We have Markor's here. Markor is a text editor that I used for a long time to make my publications here on Hive and I no longer use it because for approximately three or four years, I did not have a computer and I had to make all the publications, all the content. using the phone. The publications, the templates, were made using Markor here. Obviously, since I no longer need to use the phone to create content, I don't use Markor so much as, for example, to copy and paste some information that I have on the phone, a phone number or something like that, some Twitter data that I paste it there in that text editor. Next is the Elegant Teleprompter, which is the prompter for the phone. When I used to make scripts for certain videos, I used this application, which I have here on my phone because it helps me read the scripts while I'm recording the videos. Then I have Instagram Light which I rarely use, (because I access Instagram sometimes through the phone too), but I have it there just in case I need to access it through the phone or for some reason I can't access it through the PC, it is there. There is Mastodon, I actually have the account there, but I practically never use it, because I have it as an emergency backup, in case Facebook goes down, Instagram goes down, and WhatsApp goes down, I always have Mastodon here to be able to communicate and to be able to find out what is happening in the world. I have Cashea. I have a Cashea account that I have not bought, nor have I wanted anything from there, but I find it interesting to have it, because through there I can have a discount and financing, probably to buy the phone that I need so much in a while, and I don't want to uninstall the account. application because it takes up practically no space, just 2.60 megabytes, so I keep it. Noise Cash is an application from the old social network that I used to generate Bitcoin Cash, and I have it there to access through my phone whenever I want. I think we must learn to better manage all the applications, and all the space we require on our phone, to avoid all these unnecessary applications that only take up space. I have seen many people who use unnecessary games that they should not have on their phone and this is what probably, apart from taking up space, takes up a lot of their time and distracts them and drives them to procrastinate. So let's not have unnecessary applications on our phone and be smart by managing time. This is my black cat "manclar", this account is to honor his dead (it happened years ago). These are actually the applications that I do not use, and I think that if I uninstall them I could easily live without them, they are not something that is essential to have on my phone because I already have them on the computer, but if I lost them from the computer, obviously that I would need them, and I would no longer have to waste time installing them again, or spend internet data to install them because I already have them here on the phone ready, and that is the reason why they are still there.
