What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!
I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying an amazing weekend with your friends and family. But for us splinterlands players, most of us are busy right now playing ranked matches as there is only around 1 day left for this ongoing season to end. So if you are also a splinterlands player like me, most probably you are quite busy chasing your goals now before the season gets reset, be it either to reach a certain league or tier or secure a glorious spot in the champion leaderboard. Now talking about me, just like every season, my goal is to reach the Champion League and I already accomplished that task as I shared in my last splinterlands post. But sadly, I lost my place at champion and came down to Diamond I tier again while playing yesterday and right now trying hard to reclaim my spot. Currently, I am playing with a trophy rating of 3,660 so I would need only 40 more trophies to reach back at the champ and winning just 2 matches back to back would be enough. But during these last days, we all know the arena becomes a bloodbath as most of the OG players get super active and play with their best effort, so winning just 2 consecutive matches feels like an important task, especially if you don't have most of the cards in your deck. But anyway, as I still have plenty of energy and time left, so I will keep trying and let’s see if I can reclaim my place before the season reset.
Now moving forward, let me come to the main topic of this post as today, I have a new topic to discuss with you all. In my previous posts, I have talked about monsters with opportunity ability and today, I will be focusing light on the monsters with Demoralize ability. The Demoralize ability is a good answer for enemy melee attackers as this ability reduces every enemy melee monster’s attack by 1 and also using multiple monsters with demoralize ability will get stacked up and reduce their attack power even more. So if you are interested, let’s take a deep dive without any further ado.
Emberguard
The first card that I would like to mention in this post is EMBERGUARD. This monster card was launched with the latest Rebellion edition Reward card set and this card belongs to the Fire element. It costs 7 mana to be used in battles, so you can choose this card in your lineup when playing medium to high mana-limit matches. Its attack type is Magic and it is a legendary type card, so you will need a total of 11 BCXs of cards to upgrade this monster to max level. This monster comes with a good magic attack but low speed and also, it is well protected with a combo of armour and health so it can consume multiple attacks before going down.
At level 1, this card only gets 2 magic attack at 2 speed with 1 armour and 7 health and also gets the Demoralize ability since its initial level. But as you start upgrading this monster, it gets the Reflection Shield at the second level, increases its attack at level 3 and finally when you upgrade it to max level, it receives 3 magic attack at 2 speed with 1 armour and 8 health and also gets the Dispel ability at its max level. Now I have already explained about the Demoralize ability and about the other 2 abilities, the Reflection Shield will neutralise any damage coming from Blast, Thorns, Magic Reflect or Return Fire while on the other hand, The Dispel ability will remove all positive status effects from an enemy monster when you successfully hit it.
Dark Arborist
Now moving on, let me display the second monster in this post and as you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, the second monster that I will be talking about is SAEK ARBORIST. This mushroom like monster looks so cute like a stuffed toy but in battles, don't get fooled with its appearance. This is also a monster card that was released with the latest edition Rebellion Reward card and it belongs to the Death element. It is a rare type card so you will need a total of 115 BCXs of cards to upgrade it to max level. Its attack type is also magic and it costs 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily fit this card in your lineup while Playing small to medium mana limit matches and also in Little League ruleset matches. Though its attack and speed are very decent, it possesses a large amount of health so you can use this monster as a defence card.
At level 1, this card looks like a weak choice as it comes with only 1 magic attack at 2 speed with 4 health along with the Demoralize ability. But as you start upgrading this card, it gets the Magic Reflect ability at level 3, increases its attack to 2 from level 4 and when finally you upgrade this card to level 8, it receives 2 magic attacks at 2 speed with a large 8 health and also gets a new ability called Void. While it can reduce the enemy melee attacker’s power by 1 with the help of the Demoralize ability, it can now damage back enemy magic monsters with Magic Reflect ability and gets reduced damage from Magic monsters thanks to the Void ability. So overall, this is a very useful card against magic attackers.
I hope you liked reading my post and also loved these 2 monsters which I talked about in this post. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.
Wish you all good luck on all of your future Splinterlands matches.
