Shadow Hunters Community Contest SMASh - Round 357
Last Tuesday, January 14, as probably many of my readers know, the traditional procession of the image of the Divine Shepherdess (Divina Pastora) took place in the city of Barquisimeto, being the 167th since its origin in 1856.
It is considered one of the largest manifestations of faith in the entire planet, the third largest in Catholicism and the second most important in the American continent, gathering a number of people that usually exceeds 3 million parishioners who come from all over the country and abroad.
In recent years, the local archdiocese gathers a little more than a thousand young volunteers of both sexes, who form part of the Virgin's security cordon in her 7.5 kilometers route through streets and avenues, about 4.66 miles, and whose functions include making way through the crowd and trying, together with the thousands of police and national guards deployed throughout the city that day, to maintain order.
As I have described in previous posts, I usually make use of the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed, with the aim of improving or highlighting some element of my images.
El pasado Martes 14 de Enero, como probablemente muchos de mis lectores saben, se realizó la tradicional procesión de la imagen de la Divina Pastora en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, siendo la número 167 desde que tuviese origen en el año 1856.
Considerada como una de las manifestaciones de fe más grandes del planeta entero, la tercera dentro del catolicismo y la segunda más importante del continente americano, congregando una cantidad de personas que usualmente supera los 3 millones de feligreses quienes vienen del todo el país y del extranjero.
En los últimos años, la arquidiócesis local reúne a poco más de un millar de jóvenes voluntarios de ambos sexos, quienes forman parte del cordón de seguridad de la Virgen en su recorrido de 7,5 kilómetros por calles y avenidas, alrededor de unas 4,66 millas, y entre cuyas funciones se encuentra la de abrir paso entre la multitud y procurar, junto a los millares de policías y guardias nacionales desplegados en toda la ciudad ese día, mantener el orden.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, usualmente hago uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed, con el objetivo de mejorar o destacar algún elemento de mis imágenes.
