It’s a Sunday morning and we are all rushing about juggling chores and getting ready for Church. It’s an activity packed day ahead for our little family.

To say honestly we were not that religious before. Both my husband and I were born into our Catholic faith. It seemed more like a tradition than a commitment, a routine rather than celebrating our savior. But a lot of things happened along the way, an eye opener for me personally. I do not know exactly how it happened, I think it just got through to us how much we appreciate our life now and how much our prayers have been answered. Through every ordeal we found ourselves in there was always a way, there are people that became our instrument into fixing our problems. It turned our life around and it also happened that my husband was having the same revelation. We were suddenly listening to Christian podcast, opening the bible and really studying it. Here I am 33 years in age and I have not yet finished reading the Bible. I have read countless of novels, stayed up late at night because I was so caught up in the book I could not bear to put it down. But when it came to reading the bible it at first felt like a chore. And I was just so guilty about not understanding the text no matter how many times I read the line, many times I have abandoned the act.

But now that I know what I know, I make it a point to make it a habit. I have acknowledged my lack of spiritual enlightenment and my need for the truth and God full of his grace and mercy granted us wisdom to understand what we are reading. It also helped that I acknowledged that I am not smart enough to understand it on my own, I sought out Christians who uses platform to discuss certain texts or gospels. Whatever I needed, the Holy Spirit guided me to the answers. I still have not finished my bible but now it is no longer a chore, I delight in the good news that it brings. I savor the moments that I have come to understand and revel in the implication of being “saved by grace”

I am fortunate enough to have found my Faith, even more that my husband came to the same situation. Now that we are building our young family, we make it sure that we discuss with them about our faith and about God and Jesus. I know that there are many other people here that are not Catholics or Christians, I am not disparaging your faith and religion. I am simply sharing with you my life.

As you can see there are a lot of people attending Mass here too.

Anyways as I have mentioned Sunday is not only a day for worship for our family. It is market day and errands day. We had our Sunday Mass at the Mall where they hold mass every Sunday. It was more convenient for us to attend in this particular place since it’s close to our house. It only takes us 10 to 15 minutes via car ride.

When the mass is over we head on to the supermarket to buy our weekly groceries. We bulk up on food items for the kids because they really love their snacks. My daughter who is in Grade 2 has her packed snacks. We do not encourage them to buy every now and then at the canteen because it is much more practical to pack snacks from our pantry. She packs a lot of biscuits and cupcakes for morning and afternoon. She also packs an extra biscuit for when someone forgot their snack or pocket money. That way she can share it with them. My son also has his share of appetite for snacks.

Lately we realized that they were having way too much sugar from those snacks not to mention their yogurt drinks. So we talked it over as a family that we are going to make some changes in our food consumption. We are opting to prepare healthier meals. And so, we lessened the biscuits cut out juices and chocolate drinks. We replaced buying cookies and cupcakes with fresh fruits which we bought at the marketplace. I bought a variety of fruits to mix and match for their snacks. We also cut back from oily dishes, instead we bought more vegetables. I will be browsing some recipes so that I have different dishes to offer and make it delicious so that it will encourage them to eat healthier.

After buying, we went to eat out since it was already past lunch time. Lastly, I brought my daughter to different stores to look for a sportswear attire for her school event next week. I liked shopping with my daughter, we left the boys at the restaurant to wait for us there until we finished buying some items. It was better for them to stay put because knowing boys, they would make us rush our shopping. They just do not understand how shopping can be therapeutic for us girls. We found a headband and a top for her, and that was it. She already had a jogging pants so there was no need for us to buy matching ones. We got back to the boys and went home. It was a tiring day for us, fortunately the kids had enough energy that there were no tantrums along the way.

That ends our Sunday Activities, I hope you had a lovely day too wherever you are! A blessed to each and every one of you. May your days be filled with precious moments with all the lovely people in your lives.
