These wee taken last Saturday.

This is Näsinneula, the 168 m tall observation tower you saw in the post I made the day before yesterday. On the second floor there is a rotating restaurant. It's one of the best in the city.

East. Särkänniemi amusement park.

Southeast. The smoke coming from a chimney downtown comes from a cardboard mill. It's one of the few still in a city center anywhere in the world.

Northwest. Lentäväniemi cape.

In the center you can see beginning of Tammerkoski rapid. It's reason why Tampere became an industrial city in the first place. There is a 2.5 km long tunnel that the highway now runs through. The construction of the residential area in the upper center at the end of the bridge began a few years ago.

Sort:

Särkänniemi looks down right garish against all the grey this time of the year.

Maybe. I considered the colors a welcome counterpoint to the grayness.
