When watching a movie, the ending can influencer our overall impression. A well concluded one can leave us feeling glad, while a disappointing ending canone can discourage onee. I'll examine the Nigerian comedy-crime film "A Tribe Called Judah" and an ideal ending.
"A Tribe Called Judah" revolves around Jedidah Judah, a single mother with five sons from different fathers and tribes. The plot is driven by her sons' distinct personalities and tribes. When Jedidah falls ill, and the hospital bills is much, her sons devise a plan to rob their former boss, rumored to be a money launderer to get the bills sorted, however, their heist goes the other way round.
The actual ending shows the sons learning valuable lessons about family, unity, and responsibility. The film concludes with the first son who eas actually the most responsible, though partakes in the robbery,he was shot and died. And others and their mum including the last sons girlfriend left the city via water/canoe.
However, I believe an ideal ending would add more depth. After the heist, the sons should face consequences, which will lead to character growth.
Jedidah's recovery could also spark a community initiative to support single struggling mothers and promote inter-tribal understanding. Her sons could/should join her in these.
This revised ending provides closure, adds depth, offers social commentary, and ends on hope. Viewers will see the characters grow, take responsibilities, face consequence for their actions and find redemption.
Jedidahs mother, was also nowhere to be found at the ending, what if the law enforcement agencies goes for her forcing those who already eloped to come back
A satisfying movie ending should tie up loose ends, provide emotional resolution, offer character growth, and leave a long lasting impression. "A Tribe Called Judah" touches the heart, moves one to tears, but an ideal ending would further emphasize the power of family, unity, love, responsibility and redemption.
Emekas role, was lit including all of her other sons,we heard nothing more about Adamu's marriage or introduction.
Which should at least be even if its that his fiancé's parent do not give consent, there should be a place at the end that shows something on them.
And we dont know how Emeka was buried,I would have suggested him,his corpse being taken along to wherever they elope too,he's the first son .
The movie though highlights the nations (Nigeria) cultural richness and diversity, showcasing unity amidst differences. By exploring various themes such as family, forgiveness, love and the likes, "A Tribe Called Judah"sure resonates with audiences worldwide.
The film also sparks reflection on societal issues like single motherhood, tribal divisions, and economic hardships. By addressing these issues, "A Tribe Called Judah" encourages sympathy, understanding, and community engagement.
In conclusion, "A Tribe Called Judah" demonstrates the power of films.Movies can educate, inspire, and unite people across cultures and borders. A well-crafted ending can elevate a film from mere entertainment to a deep thought-provoking experience.
A satisfying conclusion can turn a good movie into a great one, leaving a lasting lrgacy that lingers on with audiences for years to come.
