Well,I once had this very close friend,Racheal(not her name)she just vanished from my life without warning. We had been inseparable since a very long time,It started I guess around 2015,I was a bit older than she is,we share every secret, laughter and cry together.Am into frame making and stuffs, she helps post, deliver and all.We were so close to the extent that, when we were not close (distance wise),she would send me what she's about to eat, where shes going, the outfit she's wearing and stuffs,lo and behold, one day,she just stopped responding to my calls, texts, and chats.
I was scared at first could something have happened to her,I really felt the void,it was as if a part of me was got lost or removed.I wondered what I had done wrong when I eventually found out she's good and cool.I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had lost a part of myself.
Remembering that experience now,and also going through some post,I realize that I'm not alone. Many of us have one time or the other had someone disappear from our lives without explanation, and I can relate as it is indeed not just a painful thing but also a confusing situation, leaving us more of questions than answers. Why did they leave? Was it something I did?Did they find someone better? Did i act somehow?
In my case,I tried everything to reach out to Racheal.I believe we had a strong bond even if I have offended her or something,we can settle things no matter what, from 2015 to 2022,we literally shared everything, she knew and understood me best.I sent her messages, phone calls and even went to her house countless times, she acted and seem uninterested or bothered.
This all started when she gained admission in 2021,I didn't want to belive it could be due to that reason being that I gained admission 2018 too, before her and i never made her feel unwanted. It was obvious she had erased me from her life, leaving me with a deep sense of loss and rejection. We were not dating but she's some who...... I am speechless
I couldn't understand why she would do that,we had no issues, disagreements or conflicts.Till today,it remains a complete mystery.
I did not forget her or what she did,but sincerely I have come to be more reasonable and realize that sometimes people disappear from our lives for reasons that might have nothing to do with us.Its not about what we did or did not do,sometimes it's about the other persons journey, struggles and all. People most times can be complex and we can't always control or understand their decisions.
I feel it is of importance to acknowledge the pain and hurt that comes with being left behind,to feel sad,get angry...acknowledging it all would help us move forward.
I had to learn to let go and focus more on me after she disappeared, regardless of whether she(Racheal)is in my life or not,I am worthy of love attention, respect and every good thing.
Come to think of it,her disappearance has somehow helped me it has forced me to know the importance of self care, self love, but most importantly it has taught me to to not be dependent.
Going through similar experience?,It is really okay to be hurt and feel the pain, just don't let it define you, focus on you.As you know the universe has its own way of doing things, bringing people, experiences our way, those that are meant to stay will and those that are not meant to with a matter of time would let go.
