Hello, and welcome to ML-Blog
It's another week of great battles, most of which come out with a positive result. To be honest, the recent updates in the splinterlands games haven't made it easy to secure a win, so one has to be grateful when the win comes. On this week's share your battle challenge, I present a battle won with the life element monsters containing the splinter that made the theme of the week Portal Spinner.
Participation in this week's share your battle challenge can be done by following this Link for guidelines
Portal Spinner is a card found in the splinterlands deck. It belongs to the life element families and is also a rare card type.
The entire life cycle of Portal Spinner consists of eight levels of different statistics. Primarily, all levels of Portal Spinner are equipped with the random attack ability. A second ability got developed at level 5 and it ran through to level 8. This ranged splinter has a starting ranged damage of 2 in the first three levels, 3 in the next four levels, and 4 in the last level. Also, in term of speed, the first 5 levels have the same speed of 2 and the last 3 has 3 speed. The shield and health section also differs in number according to each level.
Used in level two for this battle, Portal Spinner splinter has the stats as shown below:

General Sloan | The Portal Spinner splinter as I previously mentioned belongs to the life element family and they are limited summoners that can summon life cards. After a thorough assessment, the intended strategy seemed best with General Sloan as the summoner. By stats, General Sloan offers an enhancement of ranged damage by one. |
Chaos Knight | This anti-melee monster always have its way with defense. The level three card used in this battle has 3 melee damage, 3 battling speed, 3 protective shield, and 4 healths. Chaos Knight attacks from the first position unless in a situation where the battle rule permits it to attack from elsewhere. In this battle, its reduced melee damage played a useful role. |
Creeping Ooze | Speed usually plays a very important role in a battle. Creeping Ooze slows down the enemy monster's speed. The assumption was that Chaos knight will be difficult to be eliminated which is why Creeping Ooze was placed immediately after it. Its position didn't matter anyway because it was the easiest target for the enemy snipe monster |
Stitch Leech | Leech is a melee attack monster. That's not all, it also has the sneak attack ability which makes it more special. Leech has 2 melee damage, 2 battling speed, and 4 health at level three. It got the middle position because it was highly needed in the game and had to be protected. |
Venari Crystalsmith | This Tank Heal monster is both a healer and a fighter. Found in the family of life elements, Venari is a ranged attack monster with 1 ranged damage, 3 speed, and 4 health at level 2. Positioning the monster behind was to ensure its safety and prolong her stay in the battle. |
Portal Spinner | The reason for this week's SYBC "Spinner" is a ranged attack monster with 2 ranged damage, protected by 1 shield, battles with 2 speed, and has 4 health, according to the level two stats. |
Battle Commentary
Following the strategy which includes a combination and ranged and melee attacks with speed reduction, the battle returned a positive result. Starting with the enhancement of ranged weapons, General Sloan increased the damage of the ranged attackers in the team.
With five monsters from my team facing six monsters of the opponents, Chaos Knight held on to defense while others effect unrecoverable damages on the opponent's monsters.
Portal Spinner unfortunately didn't last long as it was positioned in the crossfire of sneak attack monster.
My Strategy & Its Effectiveness
The game's strategy was about 70% effective. Finishing with 3 monsters out of five showed the strategy wasn't bad at all, so yes, my strategy worked.
What I Think About Portal Spinner
As the only monster with the ability to defile the taunt ability, I believe P. Spinner is quite useful. Generally, its stats aren't bad. However, I classify it as an average monster.
