This week's battle post is focus on Chaos Knight. I used it in a unique situation, battle with a limited to 12 mana. Surprisingly I came out with a win but how I did it is written in today's post.
Formations
With low mana count it would seem strange to use a 6 mana monster in Chaos Knight. Yet I felt a combo with Armorsmith would be a solid defense against my opponent since life splinter attack for low mana monsters often were weak. In between my Chaos Knight and Armorsmith are Furious Chicken and Creeping Ooze as fill ins.
My opponent went with Gargoyle Scrapper, Silvershield Knight, and closing with Celestial Harpy. Interesting they used a 6 mana monster too in Silvershield Knight which also then handy capped them from putting more monsters on the field.
Round 1
Round 1 went off with nothing much. Both formations stayed fully intact and not much of any damage done.
Round 2
Round 2 starts off differently as Gargoyle is knocked out but my Furious Chicken was knocked out too. On the other hand Gargoyle is more useful than a Chicken so I say my opponent sustained more damage in the round.
Round 3
After the third round the formations remain mostly the same.
Round 4
In this round I lose my Creeping Ooze. Now down two to two it was neck and neck.
Round 5 thru 7
From the next two rounds my Armorsmith was knocked out but their Silvershield Knight was also knocked out.
Conclusions
With the one on one match up the Chaos Knight has the upper hand due to shield ability and toughness for blocking all melee attacks at 1. This is the high life for using Chaos Knight. It was clear with its use I was able to win.
The match most importantly came down to Chaos Knight. The shield ability really did the trick here as it outlast my opponent all the way to the end.
