So I finally hit the hive power target I set for myself just a day before my 4 years anniversary on hive blockchain. It's been ups and downs through the journey but I kept pushing, enduring and overcoming those challenges as well as enjoying the process.
I now have 30k HP. This was attained on 30th of April, which was last month and the next days which was first of May, @hivebuzz notified me that it's my Hive birthday! Interestingly, May is my birth month as well.
I started out with my previous account @maxijgcomm on March 2018 where a group of tech guys formed a whatassapp and informed their members to invite their friends. Luckily for me, I was among the invitees and we were introduced to the platform and we got our accounts created.
That was actually during the bull market and everyone's desire was to make money, lol. Nothing much really came by cause back then on steemit, it was very difficult for newbies to get noticed and get something tangible.
Then, the bear market showed up and almost all of them gave up. I didn't, cause I believed in the system and persevered. Sadly, I lost access to it cause the device I was using then broke down beyond repair. It was really a bad experience for me cause I lost everything.
On May 2019, I created a new account and started a fresh journey with a cool username relating to my art which the previous one never had.
I'm a kind of guy that usually set goals for myself in whatever I desire to do and I strive to focus on it without allowing any distraction or obstacle to stop me. When they do come by, I try every possible way to overcome them.
I set target for myself. Each week, each month and each year with some specified amount of HP to get. I also monitored my progress and made adjustments on the way based on my past results.
The goal was never to power down but to focus on increasing my earnings. I joined a couple of contests like that, mostly art contests and also took part in hive engagement league.
