# Splinterlands Report Card #1 - Splinter Stats Season 70 Report Card

@maxwoo

A short while before release of Chaos Legion, I began renting out my entire collection, and reclaiming them just prior to Brawl fights. As I am unable to play without my full arsenal, I typically wait until the moment I do my frays, and push through the lower ranks I may be in, to maximize whatever power I have remaining after end-of-season rentals.

With enough cards to have tools in each ruleset, pushing through bronze-silver is usually a simple task. Moreso than predicting enemy sets, I focus on building a strong team, usually centered around a Selenia Sky ranged/dragon set, but alternating to Malric Melee or Alric Magic.

Funny enough, the greatest difficulty for me in typical bronze-silver ladders is with my own cards- after upgrading cards to participate in gold or diamond, it's easy to mindlessly select a familiar card, not realizing it doesn't have particular ability in the league that would make it useful in the scenario.

Nothing extraordinary, but a pack is always nice - To me, Chwalla is a very useful tank in many rulesets, so I am always happy to be rewarded with more - in the future, I see them being a beginner dragon staple.

My most common mistake is forgetting to unrent prior to end-of-season early enough, often ending up missing on 3-6x days on certain cards rented for power.

I've released a good portion of my DEC-SPS position over the past few weeks, as signs showed of DEC's dropping (and my avoidance of IL)- still, I am content with my SPS income.

Though my reward income still seems so far from the rental, I am happy to have the excuse of brawl frays to pull my cards back and play. At the end of the day, this is a game, and a game I enjoy - If a minor amount of tokens are all that are at stake, it's easy to consider them a fee for the fun of the matches.
