It happens to us almost every night. The oxford dictionary defines it as " a series of images, events and feelings that happens in our minds while we are asleep. Now the question is, what brings about the particular images, events and feelings in our minds while asleep?.
A religious man may likely align each of his dream to a particular meaning that is spiritually connected. So also an atheist may find some scientific or psychological explanation why he had a particular dream.
Its a trite knowledge that man is compose of body, mind and spirit. when the body is sleeping, the spirit act the feeling of the mind in dreams, because it is only in dreams that the spirit can find expressions. Other times, we dream of the activities we have engaged in during the day or in the pass.
These feelings that our spirit play in our dreams could be of fear, excitement, loneliness, joy, victory, anxiety, and many more. And each of these feelings has its images that represent those feelings in our dreams.
Having said these, there are times we have dreams of what is to happen in future. And whenever this happens, its totally defiles my above explanation of what dream is. That's where the religious man gets his stands about what he tags as Revelation through dreams.
Dreaming is an avenue where some people connect to a supernatural being. Some people get information through dreams, even herbalist claim most of their herbs used in healing some sicknesses was shown to them in dreams.
From all the above, I have these to say, dreams means different things to different people. And whatever way you see it, most be born out of your believe system.
