I always wanted someone who's caring and understanding. Growing up as a kid, I spent quality time watching the relationships between my parents, comparing that with other couples in our vicinity. They always seemed to have everything under control. This was my dream; a relationship where problems are fixed and peace is served.
But life doesn't always go according to plan. I never got the chance to pursue my dream, because I was more introverted and socially reclusive. I watched as other people started relationships, broke up, got married, got divorced, had kids and all, while I was stuck alone. It did get to hurt for as long as I thought about it.
Few months ago, when I was house hunting after having transferred to the cafeterias' new branch, life took a new turn. I met Julie, who happened to be the superintendent in charge of the apartment building I would be staying in, as well as the occupant of the next apartment unit to mine.
I had always been glued to screens than to people, following my own interests and passions. But then she appeared, curious, intriguing and charming, encouraging me to try new things and discover new possibilities. I was loving it all. She showed me there was more to life through her attitude towards me and I felt so alive than I had ever been.
The short journey has come to an end, and we are back home from the hospital. Hopefully, I get to return back to work in due time and earn that medal I dearly missed. Also looking forward to walking a step further with Julie and get to buy her more bags with straps made of long braids of gold colored leather cords.
