This event in my life was so memorable and I want to share it. Though this happened in the last quarter of last year, I felt that making a blog about it is a good thing. Just wanted this memory to be placed in the blockchain as a record that it happened. 😀
My only sister and I have the same birth month and a few days gap in between our birthdays. We were both born in November. As far as I can remember since we were children, oftentimes we have a double birthday celebration. In the past couple of years, my younger sister would come to Cebu and visit. Then we have a simple celebration. Last year was no different. She and her family came to visit. One of the best things we do on our birthday is visit the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Holy Temple of our church. We took time to worship and express gratitude inside. Giving thanks for the four decades we have walked this mortal existence. 🙂 Big thing to be thankful for.
And so we did. It was our first activity of the day. We went inside while our children were outside. So were our husbands. When we were done, took a photo for a remembrance.
After the temple, we went to the mall. We had some ice cream and dinner. My sister's treat!
Ice cream at Gelato Filipino.
Dinner at Seafood Paradise. It's an Eat All You can restaurant. We had unlimited Samgyupsal. Our children enjoyed it. Actually it was our children who enjoyed the most during this day. Before we ate ice cream they played with their cousin, my sister's son, in the nearby playhouse. You know children, they love to play. As they say, Let the Children play!
Our day ended with our stomachs filled with precious memories to keep. Being able to be together for a while on a special day is a priceless opportunity. We have different lives to attend to. So times like this are valuable.
I always treasure time with loved ones. I hope you do too!
Thank you for reading this far and I hope you will also find time to spend it with the people you love the most.
It was indeed a great birthday!
Until next time!
xoxo,
Met
