Happy 4th Birthday Little Bloke!
Today is a very special day as our son turned 4 today and I can not believe how fast it has gone! 4 years already, it feels like yesterday that he was born. The same can be said about little miss who recently turned 7 years old! How time flies gives me the shivers.
But as all things, aging is a part of life and witnessing life grow is an amazing part of it, it feel like yesterday that I had ideas of growing up and having children of my own and now here I am as I think, an adult. Trying the best I can to raise my kids with what I have.
It has definitely been a challenging journey and there is no rule book or instruction manual on how to raise children, while there are our parents who raised us, we don't often use their advice because we're a product of their experience lol. I think they forget that sometimes when advising us, yes I know mum. I was there and I didn't like it...
And here we are 4 years into little blokes journey of life and I hope I have done a good job. It's interesting the difference between boys and girls, I often feel like I am not there enough for little bloke. It is because little miss and I have a strong bond, where little bloke is very much connected to his mum.
A lot of people do tell me that is normal, but I like to spend time with little bloke as much as I can despite him finding me boring. But we have found some common ground with Call of Duty on the Playstation. The truth is I get quite board of the game, I fell out of love with gaming probably 10 years ago, but it is something he really enjoys and I enjoy spending time with him so I play with him.
We're only having a small gathering today with close family and a birthday cake and we also went out to dinner to a place of little blokes choosing, he chose a restaurant with a kids play ground in it and mini arcade games.
We will have a much bigger party with his friends from kinder on the weekend where he will be able to enjoy spending time with his friends. He often tells me like all boys they get together and talk about who's dad is stronger. Well apparently they all think I am because I have muscles lol.
I quite enjoy seeing three generations in one photo it is quite the feat in todays age, soon I will go visit my grandmother who resides in a nursing home and is unwell, we are very fortunate in that we have 4 generations on this earth at the same time.
Those things don't happen much anymore and it is sad but I am sure things will turn again and people will be able to grow large families once again.
