Even though every Sunday my family and I have a similar routine, it’s not exactly the same. We may go to the same places and do the same things, but the way we do them is different each time. Today, as usual, we went to the local church in our village for worship. My wife and I both grew up in evangelical Christian families, and it’s important for us to attend church every Sunday. What was unique at church today was that none of the youth groups, especially those involved in music and singing, were there for worship. They were all at another program. So, we were short of musicians for the service. Thankfully, a mother volunteered to play the guitar. As a result, the church service (except for the preacher) was led by women. There were a lot of children present today. I noticed there were even more when all the children came up to the stage to perform a praise song.
After the service, my family and I went to our favorite restaurant, which is about 13 kilometers from our village. The drive doesn’t take long, depending on the traffic. When we arrived today, the parking was almost full. As I was about to park, another family arrived and parked just ahead of us. I quickly told my two sons to go inside and reserve a table before it got too late. Thanks to their quick action, we managed to get a table that had just been cleared. All the other tables were taken! I felt sorry for the family that had just arrived and hoped they would find a table soon, since the restaurant closed at 2 pm, and the last order was at 1:30 pm. We got there at 12:30 pm.
Rex ordered a sandwich, fries, and fried chicken. That’s his usual order at this restaurant. I tried suggesting other dishes that I thought were tastier, but he insisted on his usual. Rez also has his regular order: fried chicken and plain rice. There are many other delicious options, but they don’t want to try them. My wife ordered seafood tomyum noodles, and I ordered wantan hoo with chicken and seafood. Eiona only wanted fried chicken wings.
We really enjoy visiting this restaurant every Sunday because the surroundings are so peaceful. There are lots of plants, fruits, vegetables, and even flowers that inspire us as gardening enthusiasts.
Today, it didn’t rain, which is unusual since it usually rains around 2 or 3 pm. The kids took advantage of the nice weather to play outside until it got dark. They were full of energy, and that’s how it should be. Sometimes I worry when they just want to watch TV, but today the weather allowed them to play outside until evening.
