I thought that today, as planned, we’d head straight back to my hometown after waking up. But turns out, that didn’t happen—haha. My mother-in-law managed to convince me to take her to a river, a new fishing spot we hadn’t been to together before. Apparently, someone told her yesterday that big fish were caught there. So, I decided to delay our trip home until tomorrow.
I wasn’t expecting much from fishing today, especially since it rained heavily yesterday, so I figured the river would be flooded and murky. But still, I unpacked my fishing gear, which I had already packed up yesterday, thinking we were heading home. This time, I set up a 4-foot fishing rod, not really hoping for much, haha.
We left around 4 PM since we waited for my brother-in-law to finish his shift as a driver. So, it was me, my wife, my brother-in-law and his wife, plus my nephew, all ready for a fishing trip.
The location was about 5 km from home, down a muddy and slippery unpaved road. When we arrived, I was pretty excited, the river was huge! In my mind, I thought, "Once the weather dries up and the water clears, this could be a great fishing spot!"
Long story short, just as I expected, we caught nothing, not even a single bite, haha. This was the first time my mother-in-law went fishing with me and didn’t catch anything. In fact, none of us did! After about four hours, as it got darker, we all agreed to head back.
On the way home, we stopped at a new restaurant for dinner, our first time trying it. Even though we went home empty-handed, we were still happy because we discovered a new fishing spot and a great place to eat today!
