Re-introduction After 1 Year

in #hive-174578last year

After so many "what ifs" I finally decided to do this—start writing and stop procrastinating. I joined Hive last year which makes it twelve months plus now and I really enjoyed my being here then—writing, engaging in contests and reading amazing articles from other Hivers made it all interesting—and I want to keep enjoying it.

Last year, Federal universities that belonged to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) all went on strike which lasted for eight good months and my school being a Federal University was also affected. So, I did not have to go to school for the course of this period and I knew I had to find something doing if not, the days will just roll by quickly without me achieving anything. Then, I was so happy when I got to know about Hive, a platform where I can blog and also earn from it. I got introduced to Hive by @thprincessbusayo Of course, I did learn other things during the course of this period. I started taking French lessons on Duolingo and learning a foreign language was intriguing and fun at the same time.

Afterwards, the 8-months strike ended and we were asked to resume. Okay, the session began and I resumed as a 200-level student of Unilorin studying Mass Communication. First semester was a not-so-easy one. We had to do so many presentations, group work, assignments, tests then exam... In all, it was very hectic and I could not manage combining schooling with blogging which was why I was absent for so long. First semester lasted for close to six months, if I am not mistaken while second semester started two weeks later. I had little to no time to catch up with the things I left behind.

The session is already over and I am so glad to be here again on this space re-introducing myself. My name is Omotosho Mercy Faderera hence my username, Mercytosho. I love reading short interesting stories about life, love, relationship and motivational success stories
I did not quite know how to go about this which is why I want to say a very big thank you to @fashtioluwaade for coming through. I messaged him on WhatsApp and he helped with guidelines on how I should go about writing this.

**What ignited me to come back? **
Apart from me missing being here, there was a poll made on the Hive group Nigeria WhatsApp group about which level each and everyone is currently here on Hive that made me say to myself that it's high time I came back here. On the poll was listed fine different lists—70 upward (whales), 65-69 (whale shark), 60-64 (shark), 50-59 (panla)😃 and 25-49 (crab). Even though I did not vote (I forgot to pleaseee), the poll kind of left a message in my head that I should at least come back because that is the only way I can be better at it.
Then, I also read some articles and discovered that there are so many student here who are combining both academics with blogging. Do they have two heads? Absolutely no! So, that motivated me that if they can do it manageably and later on excellently, I can too.

I appreciate you for reading this far. As a 'returning newbie', I would really appreciate your help and advice on what to know, do and avoid here. I really look forward to reading your comments. Thanks once again!

À bientôt (see you soon)😊.
