I've actually thought about the issue of too many cars running around but never in the direction of downsizing families for the purpose of having less cars running around. This law is definitely going to make families rethink their family size especially for those with more numbers and there is also going to be the issue of losing the other cars for families who have more than one car.
I'm kinda surprised at the law for directing the solution of the problem to families when I've been thinking the issue is coming from the many factories and industries that work countless vehicles daily. I still get a tiny bit of trauma when I see a huge vehicle pass by leaving all the dangerous carbon emission behind for people around to inhale and almost curse at the driver.
It's a serious issue at hand that people's respiratory system are put at constant risk of getting diseases or illnesses because of the too many working vehicles around but to a large extent, directing the law to families and the number of cars they should have isn't the solution to the problem. In a way, this law will reduce the work level of a family and reduce tax payment.
I'll share a potential benefit if this law should stand and that is, there will be more family planning taken seriously in the future as new families would want to have their family move at once without the help of a public vehicle for some occasions. Although I think a way out is having a bigger sized car for a larger family but it would very much depend on their financial level.
Another benefit to an extent would be less cars on the road which would mean less carbon emissions of course, but there would be many more bigger vehicles emitting more carbon than a family's five cars would give out. So with these benefits, it wouldn't seem like any difference from when families are allowed to have as much cars as they want but families should know their limit.
There would be so many drawbacks and lagging problem if the law is made on just the families because I feel the main solution is on any factory or industry that has to move goods here and there but don't care about their bad vehicles emitting too much carbon into the air daily. If there are some laws to regulate the number of cars each factory or industry should run daily.
Or maybe if there is an enforcing law to make sure every vehicle is well taken care of before running them on the road to reduce the amount of carbon emissions to the air. Then things would be a lot better than actually just focusing on the family to do all the magic in making the difference for the ecosystem which I think is quite impossible and limiting economy growth.
In many ways, having just one car per family will only bring hardship for the families, the economy and the world at large. It will be like going from bad to worse because yeah, I know we really need to work together on how to reduce the air pollution going on. There is even the refineries and furnaces that are damaging the air constantly too. The problem is bigger than the "One-Car-Per-Family" law and we need to act.
