Momentarily, as I went to get water for some home chores, I noticed waste scattered around my road. It’s easy to overlook the wrappers, bottles, and other waste lying around, but moment, I could not ignore it. Indeed though I had a full schedule with chores ahead, I decided to muster up the courage and do a Clean Earth exertion to keep my Neighborhood clean. With my small waste bag in hand, I started picking up the waste as people passed by, glancing curiously. Some braked down, watching me bend over to snare snack wrappers and bottles that others had carelessly thrown down. Many people indeed gave me nods on stimulants, which lifted my spirits. It wasn’t easy at all – I was formerly tired, and drawing the road with people watching added a bit of pressure. But knowing I was making a difference kept me going. This routine of keeping my road clean has become an important part of my life. Occasionally it’s exhausting, but each time I finish, there is a sense of satisfaction that’s hard to describe. I hope further people in my neighborhood will notice these sweats and join in or at least be aware of where they throw their waste. As I eventually finished and went on to cost the water, I felt proud.
This wasn’t just a Clean Earth exertion; it was a memorial of how small conduct can bring about change. I’m glad I took a little time out of my day to make a difference in the terrain. Thanks to @cleanplanet for the support they have been giving to this Community.
