Hello everyone, today I will take everyone to visit another landmark of Barcelona, Spain. It is located in the Example area of Lanta Province, which is the Sagrada Familia. Cathedral. It is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world. It was designed by the Catalan architect Antomi Gaudi (1852-1926), and his work on the Sagrada Familia has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Sagrada Familia.
- On March 19, 1882, the construction of the Sagrada Familia began under the supervision of architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, who resigned the following year. Gaudi took over as the main architect, changing his architectural and engineering style, which combined Gothic and Art Nouveau with rounded curves. He devoted the rest of his life to this project and his body was buried in the crypt of the church when he died in 1926.
- And the construction of the Sagrada Familia is still progressing slowly. And there was a stop during the Spanish Civil War in July 1936 and the construction resumed in 1950. With the advancement of technology, the progress has accelerated in the middle of 2010 and the construction is expected to be completed by 2026, the hundredth anniversary of Gaudi's death.
Sagrada Familia was inspired by the book seller Jose Maria Bocabella, the founder of the Asociacion Espiritual de Devotos De San Jose. After visiting the Vatican in 1872, Bocabella returned from Italy and intended to build a church, which was funded by donations. And started building on the festival of St. Joseph, which planned to build a Gothic Revival church with a standard style. And Antoni Gaudi took charge. He changed the design of the construction, which took a very long time.
- Until the year he died, the cathedral was only 15-25 percent complete. And continued with important disciples. Until the civil war, some of Gaudi's rooms were destroyed. The current design is still based on the newly built plan that was burned and modified in a modern style. This is just a part of the origin. In fact, there is a lot of information about this place. It is considered a beautiful trip.
- We traveled to Barcelona and of course, this place that anyone who visits Barcelona must visit is definitely here. Because it is as magnificent and beautiful as its reputation. Even though it is not 100% complete, it is close. We went to this place. I must say that the top of the Sagrada Familia can be seen from a distance. It is a very interesting landmark of Barcelona.
- From the angle that can be seen from a distance, it is beautiful. When you get closer, you are even more amazed by the beauty and magnificence of this place. It is very popular with tourists. We were the same. We went during the day. The weather was quite cold. But it was not an obstacle to taking pictures. We still looked for beautiful angles to take pictures of this cathedral. By walking around to see various angles It is really beautiful and magnificent. We did not go inside. We intended to come later because there were a lot of people that day. Try to find an angle where there are not many people even though it is difficult.
- After walking around the Sagrada Familia and taking pictures and videos, the beauty is still engraved even from the outside. We still remember it very well. That day, we did not go inside but we chose to stay near this area. Even though at night we walked past this place, there were fewer people, only cars still passing by.
- We walked past this place again and the image we saw was the lights that were decorated shining on the church, something beautiful. It was beautiful during the day, but the night view was even more beautiful. I could not help but take out my camera to take pictures. It is such a beautiful place.
And this is the atmosphere of Sagrada Familia both day and night. The beauty is engraved, magnificent and extremely beautiful. No one would not know this place. Whoever goes to Barcelona, Spain, I assure you that this place will be another goal of the trip. I hope everyone enjoys my post. Thank you for following. Have a nice day.
