The city, formerly known as Dertona, Today it is known as "Tortona". is the oldest city under Roman rule in the west. It was founded in the 2nd century at the junction of the consulates of Postumia and Fulvia. Some archaeological remains can still be seen.
The city also preserves many important Christian sites, evident in history and art. Alongside the Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta and San Lorenzo Maria is the Cathedral of the Madonna Della Guaraia, whose golden statue can be seen from a distance. And I can see it every time because it can be clearly seen and is considered to be another highlight of this city. If I have a chance to visit this place, I will take pictures inside for everyone to see again.
In Tortona, many buildings are still ancient sites. In the evening there are people walking around in the city. Let's see it like this. Most of the people living in this city may not be a city that is a very outstanding tourist destination. But it's still classic. that no matter what season it is People also come out for a walk in the city.
