If I had to leave this world on September 4th, 2023

I would jump higher.

No one really knows how long they have on earth. It may be 100 years or it may be two days. Most of the species on our planet get that they won't be around forever. A bird might take a few sticks and make a nest. A pack rat might take your pen, a shoe and a newspaper. A beaver might mess up a river.

No species on earth leaves behind such a large footprint as the human being. If I'm leaving in twelve months then I am taking nothing with me.

I said in the past that I would not quit my job, but things have changed. Teachers are protesting in Korea and things are not the same as they used to be. Besides, I would like to have that little extra time that the job has been stealing from me.

I would play games and laugh

I bought a risk game and card game called: TACO, CAT, GOAT, CHEESE, PIZZA. My sons and I played the card game together, but we never finished a whole game of risk. We set the pieces up and then played a couple hours and wondered at the meaninglessness of war. I'd like to actually finish a game of risk with them before I die.

After that's out of the way it's time to sell everything including the risk game. We will spend the left over money to visit family around the world. The first to visit is my brother in the cascades. he will teach the kids how to fly a plane and they will both get their license there.

Gotta be careful on the landing.

Then cry

The next stop is my parents house in Arizona. I'd take that time to leave my kids the keys to the cryptos and a few passwords. Then I'd just hang out and play pickle ball and ping pong and swim and laugh at the card table until it's time for me to go. Then I think I will cry.

Until then I hope the world cools down a little.

I think teachers are going through a lot everywhere. From being paid peanuts to parents being on their necks. If there are no teachers in the world anymore, the world will suffer a lot; reduced literacy, knowledge gap,economic consequences, etc. The world is balanced with teachers in the picture.

The sight of that plane crash in the photo scares me. How long has that been?

It all sounded cool and easy, except we don't know when. The first time I lost a best friend when I was 14, at the basketball court. He collapsed and never left behind anything except sorrows. I kinda understand when my dad's siblings started passing away one after another, because they're older, but I can't understand why 14 needs to die.

Now I'm in my 40s, my cousins started to disappear one after another. It all felt like I was with him that morning for breakfast, and the same evening he was gone.

The old saying was not entirely true, live everyday like it's the last day. I broke my bank account spending unnecessarily, and then found out I still have 30 years of starvation to go 😅

Somehow we have to find the way to use worldly wealth to gain eternal treasures, one of those treasures are the friends we make while on earth. There is no easy formula. It's like we are in the desert and given one portion of mana to use and eat and share and if we don't then all we have is maggots. I was in Korea when my best friend passed away. Somehow it was easier to take because he was an ocean away. The way I see it is that we are all on borrowed time. None of us really deserve to be here, but we are here. So stop fighting and smile for the few fleeting moments we have left.

From the article, sounds like it's the same stress we have here. Parents rule the education system it seems and their little angels can do no wrong. Add that to a ton of other stresses and it's suprising more deaths don't happen here - though many people just leave the profession entirely.

Spending time with the family and handing over your crypto passwords seems like a wise use of time.

After two weeks in school I caught "covid" as the antigen test results say, but it's like a sore throat to me. Teachers should have better options than suicide. That is nuts, but many gathered to pay respects and plea for teacher's rights. I'm just getting by. I'm sometimes jealous of my surfing friends down under, but only in a kind of day dream way.
