From a Beginner, for a Beginner ~ Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge

in #hive-1332310 days ago

Hello people on Splinterlands, here I am back on this week's Community Engagement Challenge. I really love these engaging initiatives where the community members not only share their game strategy and experiences but also open a vast opportunity to make this a resource hub. The fun fact is, even the noobs can also share their experiences and thoughts and learn from someone a little more experienced. The free flow of engagements is what makes things alive.

So, what's for today? They have specified to focus on tips, so here I am, with a few of the things I follow as a noob in the battles for survival.

Knowing the Gameplay!!

As a beginner or a novice, one of the biggest barriers could be getting familiar with what a specific rule set means and what the abilities are meant for. When you click on the battle tab and you get your opponent, you see the timer ticking to submit the team. Now there are lots of rulesets to get familiar with that come when we search for a battle. Oftentimes, a beginner might miss what that ruleset is actually pointing at. For example, in the super sneak ruleset, all the units will have a snipe ability. Now it's obvious for a beginner to forget what the snipe ability does right?

So to avoid that, I have bookmarked the rulesets Link and ability Link description pages along with a few others on my browser tab. The timer is ticking, right? All I need is to open a new tab, ctrl+f to open the search box and type the keyword to search from the page. Give it a read and it doesn’t even take more than fifteen seconds. That's how I got familiarised with the basic things that I tend to forget. Doing so over and over again would eventually make you remember them for a long time. Like training the mind in the shortest possible time.

Low Mana Battles!!

Lemme share with you a strategy I follow mostly when it's a low mana battle. When we pick low mana cards, what really happens is that the stats are also very low like 1 or 2 attacking stats, 3 or 4 health, speed is also tied at 1 or stats like that. Now, what if we can increase these stats using a summoner for our benefit?

Like if I go for Tarsa! A summoner from the fire element. It gives +1 melee and +1 health to all the friendly monsters. Isn’t it a great deal in low mana battle to go with the melee monsters with this particular summoner? I guess it is.

Another is, Obsidian!! Another summoner that gives +1 magic stats to all the friendly magic units. Now guess what, you are on a low mana battle, magic monsters get priority from me as normally they will ignore the armour stats and directly damage the health. On top of that, if we can get +1 for all the monsters that are so beneficiary in low mana battles is beyond description. So, that's another tip from me that works for me flawlessly.

Beginners Cards Collection for Battles

One of the problems every beginner faces is cards to play with. We know that the spellbook gives us the necessary summoner and monsters to start with. But again. When we see some of the good cards in our opponent's lineup that give us some hard times we really get tempted to have them in our arsenal for battles. Not everyone can invest like that if you buy whatever card they want.

So to fulfil that desire for a short time we may look into the rental market. That's a great initiative for both the small players and those who have thousands of cards sitting idle to have a passive income. The rental market is very cheap, try that out. While battles, note down some good cards that you loved in your opponent's lineups, rent them and play for better performance. When you have the means, just buy them.

So yeah, these were a few tips from my side that worked best for me, I know there are also some great tips out there but my experiences might help someone who has just started playing Splinterlands.
