It's More or Less the Best Curation Compilation.jpg

The Minimalist community presents It's More or Less the Best, a curation compilation highlighting some outstanding blogs published over the past week.

These selected authors shared their personal stories and views on different aspects of their minimalist lifestyle, giving some insight into what the style of living involves.

This compilation is presented to help shine the spotlight on the selected posts, with the hope that you will take a look at them in case you missed any.

Outstanding Minimalist Blogs in no particular order.

Work Smarter, Not Harder!

✨"Although this is a saying that made its imprint on my life initially when I joined the workforce, it has taken on many meanings to me since then. Sometimes working smarter is as simple as doing things in a way that may be counterintuitive at first.
Motherhood showed me how valuable problem-solving flexibility can be!" @grindan

It doesn't take much to create beautiful moments

✨"Money is important, but having it as a God and going after it is vanity and leaves only regrets. When I recovered from my depression, I realised that with little I can be happy, and this is not conformism; it is adapting to reality, feeling happy with what I have, creating beautiful moments with what is within my reach, and living to the fullest." @abisag

A story of heartache and growth

✨"I could laugh and talk to you, but it’s all on the surface if you aren’t “my person,” but if you are “my person,” I tend to be overly attached to you sometimes, and whenever you opt and leave, it’s always heartbreaking for me.
I hate to be ghosted by people I care about. I wouldn’t give a hoot if a random person ghosted me, but when someone I hold dear disappears without any valid explanation? It gets to me.
I know for a fact that there are times when people go through stuff and disappear; that’s an exemption though, but if we were cool and you disappeared like that? It’s a different matter entirely." @ibbtammy

It's Not A Bleak Outlook

✨"Growing up, I started feeling the weight of expectations from family, friends, and acquaintances alike. I was expected to be the best in my academics, to be well-behaved, to be moulded by society’s rules and conduct, to be like a golden retriever, sort of. And on times when I failed to be the best in my academics or when I was caught in one misconduct or the other, I felt the weight of their disappointment like a stone tied around my neck." @terjix

The less I know the better...

✨"This may sound trivial, even cliché or stupid, but life itself is appreciated with a little more perspective when you reach a certain age. I know, I know... I read like a scolding you might get from your mother or father, but paradoxically, it was only after I turned 32 that I was able to see more clearly how all the things that used to matter to you really don't matter so much." @chris-chris92

Why Choose The Cage?

✨"I had an altercation with a friend days back. We both had people who we felt caused us a lot of pain in the past, and this is true. But I had decided not to end my year with anger, pain, or spite and resentment against anyone. So, I had to go through a lot of self-therapy, asking myself a lot of hard questions that would send anyone to tears. But I forced myself to answer them because that’s how much I wanted this. How much I wanted to be free." @jhymi

Something Minimalism Has Taught Me: A Tiny Home on Wheels Perspective

✨"I'm not new to living in small spaces. Check me out at 24, living in a '76 Toyota Corolla as I travelled round Australia. I learnt really quickly that the best things you carry are your memories and your love of adventure. Oh, and a big jar of vegemite and a bag of lentils. No joke, I reckon I lived off homemade dahl and vegemite sandwiches - I had very little money. Curtains were towels pegged to a string. I had a single mattress, a backpack, a gas stove and my surfboard. What else does a girl need?" @riverflows

Anything And Everything

✨"Sometimes it felt like a competition, or maybe it was a competition because I was always buying things I didn’t need just to stay relevant in the eyes of friends. Talk of trendy bags, shoes, and different colours of journals. I was just buying anything and everything. My room was not so different from a mall, and the more ugly side? I was always broke. The daughter who could save money to surprise her mother was missing." @abenad

Little Things Matter

✨"Minimalism has helped me realise that no matter how stressful life is, you can always make time for little things. Things that could help one stay focused and happy. To me, my motto has always been “Little things matter." The more you embrace it, the better life gets for you." @beeeee

From Gossip Circles to Genuine Connections

✨"For the longest time, I believed female friendships were cursed. Drama seemed inevitable, the constant gossip, hidden insecurities, and that unshakable air of hypocrisy. One moment, your friend is gossiping to you about your other friend; the next, you realize she's saying the same about you to that very person. It’s like walking on eggshells, filtering every word, and putting on a performance of "slay queen" perfection. After-all, who would want to be friends with the soft girl who spends her weekends reading novels, clueless about the latest fashion trends or how to thirst-trap boys on Instagram?" @whatmidesays

Some additional tips

🔸 The community encourages authors to engage and build rapport with other team members by leaving meaningful comments.

🔸 If possible, we recommend that authors try to use original photos taken by you. Photos count toward the possibility of your post being curated.

🔸 Just a reminder that the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas is presented with ideas on topics to write about and to help you structure your blogs; they are not meant to be questionnaires for you to list information and publish.

🔸 The presentation of your blog goes a long way, and sharing aspects of your lives and your personal stories and experiences should be a lot more than a list that can be found in various places over the web.

🔸 You do not need to wait or only blog in response to the prompts provided. You're free to share any aspect of your minimalist lifestyle at any time.

Thank you for checking out the #MoreOrLessTheBest Curation Compilation presented by The Minimalist. This is the new official community account, where the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas and all community events and activities will be published.
I invite you all to get involved and share your stories about minimalism, and perhaps you would like to invite someone.
