Hola para todos mis amigos de Hive. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia muy emotiva para mí que marcó mi vida y la cambió para siempre. Estoy hablando sobre la fiesta de despedida que le hiciera a mi hijo mayor en las terrazas y en mi casa junto a sus familiares y amigos, pues se iba a vivir para los Estados Unidos con su padre.
Hello to all my Hive friends. Today I want to share with you a very emotional experience that marked my life and changed it forever. I am talking about the farewell party I threw for my eldest son on the terraces and in my house with his family and friends, as he was leaving to live in the United States with his father.
Para empezar, quisiera contarles un poco sobre mi hijo y como fue que llegó a los Estados Unidos. Su nombre es Yamill, es un muchacho muy bueno, inteligente y muy cariñoso. Cuando era un niño se me enfermaba mucho porque padece de alergia, gracias a Dios que desde que se fue su alergia ha desaparecido un poco.
To begin with, I would like to tell you a little about my son and how he came to the United States. His name is Yamill, he is a very good, intelligent and very loving boy. When he was a child he used to get sick a lot because he suffers from allergies, thank God that since he left, his allergies have disappeared a little bit.
Un día su papá me preguntó que si yo quería que el niño se fuera a vivir con él a su país en los Estados Unidos y le dije que hablaría con el.Entonces hablé con él y le pregunté su opinión, y me dijo que sí, pues así podría ayudarme a mí y también a su hermano menor. Yo sin dudarlo le di mi permiso, pues en Cuba como en muchos países latinoamericanos, la situación de vida es muy difícil y sabía que estaría mucho mejor en los Estados Unidos. En ese momento tenían 17 años y aunque lo iba a extrañar muchísimo era la única manera de garantizarle una mejor vida.
One day his dad asked me if I wanted the boy to go live with him in his country in the United States and I told him I would talk to him.Then I talked to him and asked him his opinion, and he said yes, because that way he could help me and also his younger brother. I gave him my permission without hesitation, because in Cuba, as in many Latin American countries, the living situation is very difficult and I knew that he would be much better off in the United States. At that time they were 17 years old and although I was going to miss him very much, it was the only way to guarantee him a better life.
Empezamos con los papeles y el proceso fue muy rápido, a los ocho meses ya todo estaba listo. Por tanto, decidí hacerle una fiesta de despedida con familiares y amigos, una última oportunidad de disfrutar todos juntos como siempre solíamos hacer. La idea fue irnos de viaje a Las Terrazas y luego hacer una fiesta en la casa.
We started with the paperwork and the process was very fast, after eight months everything was ready. Therefore, I decided to throw him a farewell party with family and friends, a last chance to enjoy all together as we always used to do. The idea was to go on a trip to Las Terrazas and then have a party at the house.
Alquilamos una camioneta en la que íbamos veinte personas y llevamos una guitarra y íbamos cantando. Al llegar todo se veía muy bonito. Ahí nos bañamos en el río, había un puente y se tiraban de ahí para el agua. Después de disfrutar bastante en el río, compramos unos refrescos, panes y pizzas para merendar algo y dimos un paseo por el lugar para ver el paisaje que era muy hermoso.
We rented a van with twenty people in it and we brought a guitar and we were singing. When we arrived everything looked very nice. There we bathed in the river, there was a bridge and they jumped from there into the water. After having a good time in the river, we bought some soft drinks, bread and pizzas for a snack and we went for a walk around the place to see the beautiful landscape.
Más tarde fuimos a almorzar para un restaurante que hay allí, había muchas ofertas pero todos pedimos lo mismo: arroz moro , bistec de cerdo,ensaladas , fritas, refresco y dulce. Todo estaba especial, muy bien cocinado y con muy buen sazón. Regresamos ya por la tarde, todo fue muy divertido.
Later we went to have lunch at a restaurant there, there were many offers but we all ordered the same: Moorish rice, pork steak, salads, fries, soda and sweets. Everything was special, very well cooked and with very good seasoning. We came back in the afternoon, everything was fun.

Al día siguiente nos esperaba matar un cerdo en mi casa ,fue un día de lluvia todo una locura. Tuvimos que tapar el cerdo que se estaba asando en el patio, pero al final fue divertido. Pusimos música, bailamos, jugamos dominó y pasamos un momento inolvidable entre familia y amigos. Todos muy unidos ,fue una despedida bien bonita,yo me siento muy feliz ya que pude hacerle una fiesta como él se la merece.
The next day we were expected to kill a pig at my house, it was a rainy day and it was crazy. We had to cover the pig that was roasting in the yard, but in the end it was fun. We played music, danced, played dominoes and had an unforgettable time with family and friends. Everyone was very united, it was a very nice farewell, I feel very happy because I was able to give him a party as he deserves it.
Después de todo estoy muy feliz ya que la vida le ha ido bien,se casó con una muchacha que lo quiere mucho y su familia también,tiene su propio negocio y ha visitado lugares increíbles.
After all I am very happy because life has been going well for him, he married a girl who loves him very much and his family too, he has his own business and has visited incredible places.
