Here We Are. (We never left, or maybe we did...)

in #family8 months ago

Hi my dear Hivean friends! Maybe some of you have noticed that I haven't posted anything in these past three months, and not so much before that either.
This is mainly because we had a lot going on, and in between the stuff that was going on, I tried to pick up as much work as I could. Since my work is never guaranteed, and tasks will disappear if I don't do them right away, I often find myself behind the PC at crazy hours, working crazy hours, because I try to get as much done as I can before someone else steps in and does the work instead.
It's a little bit of a nuisance at times, but I've been working like this since May 2023, and I've gotten used to it.

What Else has been going on?

So first of all, we were in Acapulco for two weeks in February, which some of you already know.
While we were there, I still tried to work a few hours here and there, but the issue was that I didn't have a laptop, so it had to happen on the phone. For some of the work I do, that's OK, but for the most of it, it's absolute hell. It takes much longer, and hurts my eyes LOL.

When we came back home, we had exactly two weeks to prepare for my eldest daughter's and my sister's visit. So in those two weeks, I worked pretty much on a constant basis, as much as I could handle, which meant 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week.
My daughter and my sister were here from the 9th of March, until the 28th of March, and since this was an expensive affair for me (paying what they paid for everything but times 4) I still tried to catch a few hours of work whenever possible. A lot less than before, because, of course, we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible, but still some work in between.

The issue with my sister is that she sometimes forgets that I can't just drop everything because she decides to have her holiday then...And especially with Anarchapulco just before their visit, it wasn't really a holiday for me (most of the time).

I know it sounds like all I do is complain, but that's not what I'm trying to do here.
We had a great time (with some ups and downs), both in Acapulco and during their visit here.
We visited a cenote and Cozumel for snorkeling while they were here, and we went to Puerto Morelos for the first time since we moved here. It's a small (less touristy, but still popular) town about 30 minutes from here. So I'm glad that we made the effort to visit the place this time around.

Aside from my one job, I will also be spending more time on my real estate business, since I've been neglecting that, and some other side hustles in the making. I seriously need to create several streams of income, and now's the time, whenever there's a down-time in my job.
As a freelancer, I work when there is work, which has been quite a lot these past few months, and when it's quiet, there's time for other things.
I want to break away from this eventually, so I know what's coming, and not having to depend on that one company (well, it's two now since the last month).

Learning New Things

As an 'insider' in my AI work, I've noticed that there is a high demand for certain skills.
So I've decided to learn one of these skills. I won't get into the details just yet, because I don't want to look stupid if things don't work out.
But yeah, so I'm back in the school books. Not exactly books, but you know what I mean.

Once I get more into it, and know that I can do it, I will tell you all about it.
So far so good!

What's expected

I still have lots of stories to tell about Anarchapulco, and even have LOTS of photos and videos of Hivefest...I'm WAY behind with that, I know, but it is what it is. And I've never heard anyone complain about hearing about Hivefest months later.

Of course, I also have a huge number of photos of my daughter's and sister's visit, so there will be enough of the regular travel stuff to share.
Oh yeah...and in December we had a short visit to Isla Holbox, another amazing place close (enough) to us here, so that will be coming too...

And aside from my AI job, I also see creating art with AI (and other things) as a huge part of my daily life now, so I will be combining a few things here and there.

So there we have it. My absence and my plans explained.

I've actually made a schedule for all the things I'm going to do, something that's not in me usually. But a little more structure doesn't hurt, does it?

See you all soon!

Great to hear from you. I hope to see more of your pictures and what you have been up to over there. It certainly looks like there are many beautiful places around and lovely weather.

Great to see you too! Still around :) I need to become a little more consistent here. I always miss Hive but sometimes I have no idea what I'm missing until I come back to see what's been going on, if you know what I mean.

And yes, our area is absolutely beautiful, so it's not like I don't have enough images haha.
