I really like the contrast between the dark silhouettes of the landscape and the bright highlights of the water. It creates a different, more dramatic mood that can help an image stand out. These were some shots of the Bow River. The ones with the rocks were quite shallow, so I could walk on the river without getting wet, which allowed me to get a nice vantage point on the water.
